    How hot do your northbridge chips get?

    In Hwmonitor, it loads up to 52C and will idle around 47C.

    I just installed a soundcard that is blocking airflow for the fan on the northbridge.

    How hot do your air cooled chipsets get? And what's safe 24/7 temps?

    Put a suitable fan over the VRM radiator too - it will help you to lower both temperatures.

    if u ask about x58 then 34 idle and 45 load with cpu at 4200 (water)
    btw in last hw monitor 2.1.2.37 system and nb placed on wrong places i guess
    u should read temps as nb-system-cpu from top to bottom not system-nb-cpu

    I'm using Hw monitor 1.16 version 133

    tmpin0 range is 30-37
    tmpin1 range is 46-52
    tmpin2 range is 32-51

    for me it is 0 is system, nb is 1 and cpu is 2.

    BTW, I'm running all stock volts at 4.0 with only the uncore voltage up 1 tick (+20mV)

    Where is the system temp sensor?

    u may see old version on left and last one on right
    for me system temp is vrm temp and should be higher than nb temp

    So in my screenshot, the

    THRM is cpu?
    TMPIN0 is system?
    TMPIN1 is northbridge?
    TMPIN2 is cpu?

    BTW, the hwmonitor is version 1.16 driver 133

    And where is this system sensor located? Thanks.

    No, here is the correct order in HWMonitor 1.16 and AEGIS Panel 2.1.2.37(33):

    TMPIN0 - 35 - chipset (nb) temp;
    TMPIN1 - 44 - vrm temp;
    TMPIN2 - 37/38 - cpu cap temp.

    My version is from installation cd, which is supplied with mb. The newer versions from internet are problematic under Win 7/64, at least on my rig. And I suppose you're using newer version (the right one on your picture above), despite the same version numbers.

    to measure the case temp i think, and why they put it there... not sure, historically it was a good spot to measure the case temp i guess, that was before long super hot vgas...

    saaya, what is the right order of temp measures in aegis hw monitor, nb-system-cpu or system-nb-cpu?

    I'm using a Zalman FB123 now. It's a 9cm fan with a PCI bracket. The fan is working at 1600rpm. The northbridge is never exceed 50c.
