I managed to snag a UD9 on Newegg OB for $370 a few minutes ago. Will definitely compare these two!

Yeah it actually happened to me as I have an EX58-UD4P.

Apparently it was fixed on the X58A series.

for max you would have to use slowmode

I'm sorry, but you are misleading people. When I click on your HWbot profile, I see you were using Slow Mode to achieve 250MHz BCLK.

I have not uploaded the 250 mhz blck without SM result to hwbot

That score is made with my first Asus R3E and another I7 920 i dont have anymore.

yes you have right =) Cuz

slowmode enable and 250 bclk give Qpi at 4000mhz+
slowmode disable and 250 bclk give 5000mhz at Qpi link

here is mine 257 Bclk and slowmode enable and qpi at 4117mhz and taken by bios 1005

    Interesting.

Slow mode at 266 still gives me QPI much lower than 4GHz.

Here's mine at 266 BCLK and 3200MHz QPI:

I was commenting on what PytonOrm said above me. He said at 250 BCLK, QPI runs at 4GHz (which is incorrect). I was just showing that.

I have no idea. Maybe slow mode is different with Gulftown? Can you post a CPU-Z shot?
