I switched to the 74 bios and I can honestly say ive had nothing but problems. I havent touched my system in close to a year settings wise and recently got a waterblock for my mb over summer and just felt like seeing if I could push it a little more past 4.2. Updated my bios and having a hell of a time getting stable at 4.2 now. I know im rusty and not a veteran or anything but I dont remember having to fight this hard to reach stability at 4.2. Whats the best bios concensus for a 920 D0 chip.

with bios 74 i have alot of problem to boot @ 245 MHZ of BCLK, with 44 i'm 32M stable at 245.
and it's not a problem of tight RTLs, i always set them manually.

with 980x the things completly change, bios 74 make all more stable.

Funny you guys are talking about this cuz i cant seem to OC my rig and be stable anymore as well. Dunno if its either the damn DOminator mem sticks or the latest BIOS messing things up. I was able to hit 4.2 with HT on Stable in LinX and now it wont pass 17 seconds, also my memory is not staying stable even when i have applied the recommended volts for its settings, 1 i cant boot up or 2 i cant get past the starting windows section. I have tried a few different settings with the mem but dont seem to hold up. I have a weird problem tho, i will defualt everything and then apply the XMP profile1 to the memory right, save & exit. I use CPUid and the mem isnt even hittin the XMP1 settings which should be 1866- 933MHZ , i am getting 530mhz.. I am EXTREMELy annoyed with this crap , i had recently applied a nice fullcover waterblock to the MB as well.. Been really thinking about ditching this MB and picking up maybe the rampage III.

hmm my board, everything changes right after putting the ek blocks. BSOD etc... previously w/o the wb was able to clock dram 2150Mhz at 1.65v vdimm but now seems need to adjust to 1.74v.

Yup I get bsods all the time , it's so hard for me to OC for some reason .. Strange that you say after the ek mb wb it takes so much voltage for your mem .. Wonder why?? Problem is that I wouldn't wanna fry my memory cuz I have nothing to cool off my mem .. And now I recall something , I remeber when I had vdroop enabled I hadseen that it pushed my memories voltage up to 1.70 !! And that's when I was almost at 1700 MHz with 4.2 ghz on CPU ..I'm gonna try the bios from like 2-3 bios' back .. Had a good run then

    eh
    i got a r3e with full wateralso
    and so does owikh
eh i say no to r3e..unless its a x980 it uses a lot of voltage for everything.
hmm owikh thats one of the signs when my hypers started dying.. inconsistent vdimm voltage
one day can one day cannot.

    ade post ure bios template
including cpu and mem ( if its dominators.. with the rev no)
but hmm cant help to notice u just got some 460's.. so looks like some lowgap or ioh voltage issue

My CPU is 940 co and all my testing I run is on LinX with 20 passes .. I just don't understand or why all of a sudden comps acting weird !? I had no issues OCing ever before . Also , how do I take a screenshot of my bios setup ?? Thanks

So 74 is the best bios for 980x. But we dont have a best bios for 920. I wanted to try 44 and 74 but if you think that there is no performance gain maybe i shouldnt bother at all

The 74 bios are terrible for the 920. Cant get 4.2 stable with them when before I had it perfectly stable with ht on and everything. I hope there is somebody out there who can say what bios work best for the 920.

The board tends to overvolt a bit. Best way to check is a multimeter. The only way I check volts on my system to ensure it won't fry cause bios and other programs cant read this voltage accurately. Seen many like that before.

One like this should do the trick.

ok, i've retested the 74 bios, it seems as good as 44 - probably the first time i tested it i've made some mistake.
with exactly the same bios settings and OS 74 is a bit faster that 44.
EVGA also added tRL setting that is quite usefull.

    bios 44 // 8.59.936

    bios 74 // 8.59.797

the only problem with 74 is that i can't restart the PC, when windows is shutting down i always have freeze and post error code display show F5.
    i've this issue on 2 EVGA 760.

    nice
hmm i cannt run my setting for 73/74 to work in 44

100% will get usbuhci error on linx.

btw lol testing corsair airflow pro on dom gt 2k 8-9-8-24
    seems
prime (custom 128fft-4096fft 5.5gb) is the most strenous
    compare to linx 5518mb
    compare to memtest HCI
    and compare to memtest86+

its still weird that these psc's dont run tRTP 7 and 8
it can do 6 and below or 9 and above.

so maybe thats y some ppl are having issues with their 2133 9-9-9-24 kits with the preset strap mch 1866/2133 which uses trtp 7

seriously nice rams.. got one now running 2100 7-10-7-27 at 1.64v only (Dmm load)
