    Safe Voltages?

I have been playing around with my board and can get my 1055T to 4Ghz but cant seem to get it stable. I don't want to fry the board with too high of volts. I was wondering what everyone is using.

So, in summary..... This board isn't really a very good overclocker above a 24/7 4GHz clock due to Mosfet overheating?

Yep. I wish it were cheaper though. Block and shipping to the states is ~$100 last time I checked.

Try making sure that in the bios it is set to raid mode. With the update it resets to nonraid mode. That got me for a min after I updated

just got it figured out... it's a little tricky

    step 1: install bios v 1.0

2: install win 7 64 bit, drivers will instantly see raid array

3: open a command propt as an admin and enter the following command:
    bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

    4: reboot

5: install all updated AMD chipset drivers and Raid drivers

    6: install bios version 1.6

    reboot and enjoy

it should work, I mean it did my Phenom II x4 965 @ 4.0GHz all day long... so the x6 @ 3.6GHz should be about the same

it's mainly the fact that the power phase is is only 4+1

Yep it just doesnt have what it takes to reach really high clocks but moderate clocks are stable as can be 24/7. Stinks though I think I had two really good 1055t's that could have gone much higher on a better board, but that is the trade off or features on this board.

Write your BIOS settings down. The ones you saved will come up invalid. Wish I knew what the SB change did.

I have a problem when using the manual memory timings and the 1:2 ratio for the memory. I set the memory timings to work on their defaults for 1333mhz and then the PC boots in fine, but when i change the ratio to 1:2 and the memory slows down to 800mhz and the timings still set on 9 9 9 24 the pc refuses to boot. have to do a cmos clear to get it going again
    I have 1.7 bios installed

    I have had my 890gxm-g65 since last may (2010) with a 955BE usually OC @ 3.6ghz with 1.4Vcore

I recently got a 1090T and am learning about the 4+1 thing.

so far i have Turbo Core DISABLED (because i heard about people frying their boards ALL OVER THE PLACE) and i have my multi at 18x (3.6GHZ) and i have 1.376Vcore
everything is stable but i want to Overclock this thing BAD
when i run prime95 at those settings i see CPU-Z climb to 1.4 which i know is getting close to killing my board

when i set multi at 19x and Vcore to 1.386 i see cpu-z climb to 1.408 and prime95 completes the first 11 tests but 3dmark11 cant make it past the rock dropping on the pillars (i think its test 5 and a cpu test)

i know i need more Vcore but im to scared to do it.

i felt my VRM`s heatsink and its hotter closest to the pci-e slot and cooler further away so i think im not making contact with all the VRM`s

i mean its hot but not as hot all way across it.

anyhow is there a way to make sure it is in contact all the way across without taking motherboard out and removing the cpu?

if the heatsink is making contact all the way across like it is supposed to how hight can i make the Vcore go with setting the cpu multi manually?

anyone have any pics of the VRM`s with the heat sink removed?

any info on this would be great

i took the time to make a signature of all my specs but it dont seem like it is working.
its in my user cp under edit signature and it previews fine but it not showing up in here....
    hmmm

Number of phases isn't important, it's quality that matters. The GA-890GPA-UD3H only has 4+1 but it's rock solid.

I have had my 890GXM GD-65 for about 5-6 months now, I got a 1090T on it overclocked 3.6ghz and turbo set to 4ghz. Now the voltage is set in the bios to max out at 1.475v where it defaults for turbo core. I have never had these "issues" that everyone else has had with this board. What is causing this issue exactly? This has me wanting to go back to my Crosshair III every time I think about this thread and another thread on [H]ardforum. Something about my house burning down with this thing bothers me. I check the vregs constantly with a digital thermometer, they run cooler with my 1090T than they did with my 955BE and they never really got that hot to begin with. The stories of these things over heating and blowing up from overclocked Thubans has me concerned that if I went on an extended BFBC2 marathon it could be the end of my box and even my house IF I wasn't careful. It does get a little toasty all over with OCCT and Prime95 but never to the point I couldn't touch the heatsink unlike my Crosshair III with my old 955. (And that never blew up either ) So is this some random power/heat spike outta nowhere that fries the hell out of these boards? Is there a certain revision of this board and/or bios revision that this is happening to? Mine had bios 1.6 when I got it and now it is flashed to 1.8. successfully via thumb drive. Just kinda wondering if there was any updated info on this potential issue.

My board run 24/7 with an unlocked x2 to x4 at a moddest 3.1ghz with 1.30v
It crunches 90% of the time and also is a HTPC. I have had it for almost a year with no issues I really like the board.
