Question for you owners. Does the ROG connect allow you to see when the system crashed? I have the R2E, but thought it would be super to hook up my netbook for overnight testing. Would be really nice to know how long it ran before crashing! Can you log things like that? Also, maybe voltages at the time of crashing, etc. Or is the software more limited than that?

I haven't messed around with ROG connect other than ROG Poster, ROG Remote, and RC Tweakit. You can check Windows to find out when something crashes. It should be in the error log.

Seems the Formula III has got similar issues... I hope for Asus it's a bios bug :p
Sometimes it will run 3D benches fine and other times during the bench or game all the sudden the fps start to drop and things become unstable on an otherwise stable oc. It has happened on all bios's I have tried, not just the current, and with several different gfx cards.

I have started using this board for a couple weeks now because it would be a waste to leave it sitting in the box, and for games 4500mhz isnt needed, it runs great at 4.3ghz. I was so pissed at the beginning because I really liked the layout and features and had hoped for better bclk, but for gaming it serves me well and is still a very good board for that. For 3D benching will use the UD7, it doesnt require slowmode for high bclk.

    Hello Rampage III owners,
I have need of some advise
I have been using a 920 DO on Foxconn Bloodrage for past 18 months without issue, I love the look of the Rampage and have someone lined up to buy the Bloodrage. I use my PC for work and games, Lots of multitasking, Video editing etc, I use lots of HD's and SSD's so I can move data without hd Bottlenecked.
I just bought a 950 because of price drop, I have tried it on a Gigabyte UD3 X58A just out of curiosity because of its low price and found it to be really laggy when multi tasking and no good for me , So tomorrow I am taking it back for the Rampage3, Sorry for long winded way round but do you guy's think the Rampage will ok for me ?

    At 116 PCI-E, I was stuck at 254 BCLK, 118 PCI-E I got to 257.

I believe I maxed out the chip this time around before PCI-E came into play.

    EDIT:

And here is why I HATE this board.

Sweet score, right? What happens if you raise the BCLK?

Is this a valid reason to RMA? Do I have a chance at getting a better board?
Weird thing : Check your GPU-Z :p, but it should boost CPU score

I tested 3DMark06, I'm getting a slight discrepancy between 200-210-220Bclock, about 300 points difference... could be explained by the 50Mhz in CPU speed and slightly higher uncore... but not half the score you have there man...

I see that PhysX is checked on the first GPU-Z but not on the second. I don't quite understand why or what difference it would make anyway. PPU was disabled through Vantage on both. And disabling it on the GPU shouldn't take points from the GPU score anyway?

Normally not, that's why I'm a bit puzzled, it should boost CPU score... Seems like a very unstable run.

    Can you test 3dmark 06 ?

    I'm testing this tonite :

    200 Bclock x 20 : 4000mhz CPU speed
    Uncore at 3800Mhz

    210 x 19 : 3990Mhz
    Uncore at 3780

    220 x 18 : 3960Mhz
    Uncore at 3740

Best out of 4 runs; I hope more peopel will wan't to test this. I don't see anything special here besides one run sor so being lower than 27K; a reboot and everything is fine again. Same ordeal as Beaux had with the UD9... At start I worked with TurboV to change the PCI-E freq and rerun the test, but scores were a bit out of the normal... All boots straight from Bios gave +/- the above results... C'mon lads test it plz... if you got data provide it to me plz so I can pass it on to the big shots....

I don't know about the version of ROG Connect that the R2E uses, but the one for the R3E allows you to do exactly that. There's a features called 'RC Diagram' which can log voltages and what not. I first thought using ROG Connect would be exactly like being in the bios, but it's more limited than that. Even still, it does make overclocking quicker and easier and I find it a must to use now when I overclock

I just purchased the RIIIE and awaiting that and my 980x... I also purchased Corsair TR3X6G1600C7D 6gig memory. Anyone using TR3X6G1600C7D by chance with their Rampage? Any problems?

Alright guys, data incoming soon on the RIIIE 3D thing.

As I thought, Leeghoofd, your results didn't quite go far enough. All was perfect right until QPI hit 4.0... then it went downhill...

Results will be up in a minute.

Alright Asus... time to send me a new board.

Check the video out to see what the benchmark actually looks like with the QPI Degredation.

Yes, but I've had this issue with every BIOS so far.

yeah I tested it with 950 and 970, so it's not purely Bloom or GT related, just need to collect loads of data to back me up ( otherwise I'll looke like a complete... lol ) You got PM soon... Will send ya charts/video too

How about trying to set a speeds/voltages first instead of using AUTO...

    Try Multi 19X, Bclock 200; Rams at 1600Mhz, uncore at 3200, PCI-E at 105

Vcore 1.4, QPI volts 1.3, Dram at 1.65, IOH 1.2

Did you consider filling up BIOS template and posting, instead of those huge pictures?

Apparently he was able to replicate the issue with all of his chips. It seems to be a board limitation. I'm just hoping it has to do with the BIOS.
