New Swiftech H20-X20 Edge cooling kits

Hi Guys;

Following a long established tradition, I wanted to give the members of this forum some sneak pics and info on the upcoming series of H20-X20 Edge cooling kits. To the members of the Media who frequent this forum, please wait for the upcoming press release prior to publishing news about this.

This is not a "casual" release for us, as we consider these devices to be the next step in the evolution of consummer liquid cooling kits (Darwin, can you hear me ?)

The kits are based on no less than 3 (three) NEW products.. ready?

• Revision 2 of the MCR X20 Drive heat exchangers: allows installation in both horizontal and vertical orientations
• New MCP35X pump, with PWM control, variable speed from 1300 rpm to 4500 rpm
• New Apogee XTL water-block, a budget-friendly variant of the XT with same performance, but a Delrin housing, and no reversible ports cover

I personnaly installed these kits in several systems, the first one back at CES earlier this year where I demonstrated a silent system equipped with an overclocked quad and (2) GTX295's in SLI (had to demo it in a hotel room so ppl could hear the absence of noise), the second in my own workstation , and the third in a high end system built in a mountainmods case for EVGA at Quakecon. Installation of the kit took me less than an hour, and the performance range is simply superb.

The kits include all kind of goodies, several hardware packs and a radbox for multiple radiator installation strategies both internal and external, hardware for a case fill-port cover, and an installation CD that took me months to prepare, including 24 detailed 3D models of various case configurations. Regarding performance, you guys already have all the information you need, since I used these kits to perform all my tests in the articles posted here and here

Here are some more clarifications that I'm sure will come up in subsequent questions:

New MCP35X pumps: no pics, since it is built into the radiator... but I can certainly hint that a new pump with a Swiftech hi-performance top is upcoming this month.

New Apogee XTL: this waterblock will not be sold individually until the end of September.

If so guys I can vouch that this sucker was running over 4GHz with 2-295 cards and dead quiet at 100% load.
When I say quiet I mean you had to stick your head right on the case to hear anything.
It was very impressive.

what's that? you mean the CPU + Drive version? ain't gona happen buddy, sorry. My vision is the patent pending rad + drive, not the CPU + drive. It's more effective, easier to upgrade when CPU form factor changes, and we found ithe rad+ drive 100% safer for an open loop.

You just forgot one option in your list:
The option to add an additional XT for us dualie guys!

Gabe - Stuff looks good. Please check the nominal diameter of the screws and the threads used on the Apogee XT (the expensive version) bolts and the back plate. When fully seated you are pushing a large amount of torque (Nm) and the screw down bolts can strip the threads in the back plate. (this happened on my two main personal systems at home and the lab, and I am not doing something crazy or weird)

...And yes, you were wronged in a minor fashion.... after extensive testing I can say definitively that the Apogee XT does out perform the EK Supreme HF (by about 0.45 deg C on average, all things being equal) and the restriction is not as bad as the figures many keep copying from others.

As I hinted to, there is a safety issue with this pump when configured in a CPU+Drive. Safety to me is absolutely paramount.

So I guess we don't have an HTPC solution... yet. There are other options.

oh incase anyone would like me to confirm gabe's claims.

I saw the machine @ ces, and it was most definitely quiet.

It didnt push performance in the XS style were used to, but it did keep the machine in complete check, and the heat values were acceptable.
And yes a few of us had to put our ears next to the pump to make sure it was on. :P

I am with you on this one although (and I know I about to get flamed by Aquatuning haters) I think a slightly larger version of the new Lian Li PC Q08 and the 200x200 Phobya radiator has some real possibilities say in a case measuring 300(W)x300(H)x340(D) Indeed it might even be possible to run 2 separate loops to 2 200x200 Phobya radiators in that size of case and MATX motherboard, admittedly not much room for Hard disks but would you be happy with one HDD, one SDD, twin GPUs (on one loop) and an overclocked CPU and other bits on the other?

You are more knowledgeable than me on these things but my idea seems logical

The MCP35X is a 350.. and a 355, all in one, that's why we call it the 35X

Ohhhh, gotcha now, I thought you were putting the X in there to mean both 0 and 5 separately.

Will you continue to offer the MCP350 and 355? Or trading in the 3.1/3.2s for the 3.25 (with the nifty PWM wiring)?

set the RD-30 @ power level over 9000, and work down from that..

This looks much cleaner without the tubing from res to pump, which can easily become a mess av crossing tubings. You don't need to worry about space for those either.

If the performance is the same, this may be the next evaluation in WC. How is the performance compared to those anyways?
