    Upgraded from an 8800gt to 2x 460s =D
New to overclocking gfx cards. I noticed that the default voltage was at 1.012 for my asus cards, and I couldn't lower it at all.

Anyway here's where I got to at 1.012.

Going to try these settings on furmark now.

Did the test at 1920x1080 32msaa in Extreme burn mode, displacement mapping, and post fx which I hope my gpu's aren't this stressed in games lol.

Took a screenshot in fullscreen, but it came out black. Did a 30m run and had no artifacting. GPU1 - 78c GPU2 - 73c. I might do another run in windowed for the sake of getting a screenshot.

Gees you have me amazeddd lol..Also the Palit cards dont have any type of cooling in their vrms rights?
No, The Palit's have no vrm cooling but I put some enzotech HS on them. There is a pic of my card in the "460 coolers" thread. My max temp so far has been 41c. That was after 2 hours of testing and my room was about 90f. In a cool room it stays around 38-39c. Its on water of course. On air it hit high 80c's!!
I also hung a 90mm fan off the back that blows on the vrm's and memory. I have 9 120mm case fans that keep fresh air in the case.

Hey guys, Im about to buy a GTX460, but what brand and what version should I? I thinking of MSI Cyclone 768MB, but, which would you recommend?

Beside, impressive OC! Hope I reach 900Mhz

The cyclone 1gb is on sale at TD for 209 w/code (from a certain site that has a "deals" forum) . My friend just got that card and it is a beast. Great cooler.

Can't go higher than this, even flashed modded BIOS.
Overvolt does not scale GPU clock...

Doh!! sorry I guess I missed the "Location:Argentina". I would try to get a Cyclone, Asus, or gigabyte if you plan to stay on air. They seem to have the best coolers.

And should I go for a 1GB or the 768MB version? I think that the 768 is capable of a tiny more OC power.

The 768 Mb is crap, dont buy it.

    1 Gb - 32 rops, 256 bit memory interface
    768 Mb - 24 rops, 196 bit memory interface.

Even if you manage to overclock the 768 Mb one a little further, its still going to be slower than the 1 Gb version.

Interesting OC you have there . I have some EVGAs coming in that i am slapping on some FULLcover waterblocks from EK . Im assuming they cool down the VRMs as well. Im going to OC the crap out of them lol Also try going a bit higher on your core clock lol i wanna see what you can do max with some more voltage.

I'll take them when i next open the case, should be soon when I get a molex > sata cable for my new SSD.

I tried using a Zalman fan bracket first, but it didnt work because the cards are too high, and the bracket made contact with the top card, causing conduction and higher temperatures.

Then I just tried the antec Spotcool which is all plastic, and was high enough not to touch any cards.

The temp on the top card before was 71 degrees at stock, 91 degrees at 875 Mhz in furmark, so it made a huge difference reducing the temp down to 78 degrees at 890 Mhz, but it still didnt allow stability at 900 Mhz GPU speed.

I can use a single one on the Marvel, but if I decide to get a second I'll switch them over to to the ICH. Its my first time trying out raid on my sammy F3s, and I plan on buying a second C300 after the prices come down, so I'll use one on the Marvel, then when I get a second in the future move them to ICH.

Im not going to be changing this motherboard for a long time though, so its a shame about the Sata III ports being rubbish in Raid.

For my next motherboard, I'll be waiting until Intel's native Sata + USB III, and I'd definately like a rampage version of that . It also needs to have the wide PCI-E slot spacing that my current board has, thats the most important thing for dual graphics cards.

I finally got all the stuff for my new build together I'll be tweaking my system up before I look at doing any other tweaked BIOSes. I'm hoping some VRM heatsink mods I'm going to do will see me over 900MHz.

Just got done installing my SSD and reinstalling windows, heres the current interior:

I got fed up of waiting for my Molex > Sata cable, so I went ahead and installed a whole modular Sata cable thats at the top of the picture, and then the Molex > Sata cable arrived right after I were done :x.

I'll swap them out later, the Molex > Sata cables are much neater as I have a Molex cable running up to the 5.25" drive bays for the CD drive, with a split at the 3.5" for the SSD.

The PSU area is a mess :p
