Not necessary howether you can get few(not much) Mhz. GTL are highly recommended for 45nm and Quad's

Yeah gotta tweak those GTLs. I used to have a chart where I used a DMM and figure out what numbers I needed for 63% and 61% at various VTT levels.

i might have to retire this board now after 3 years, its not POSTing after i did some cleaning with compressed air it turns on and i usually just have to reseat/move the rams into another slot when this happens before but it still has worked after doing it for a few hours..clear cmos/remove bat etc

its gonna be difficult to find a decent P45 board these days, i should've bought a DK P45 t2rs a few months ago when they were selling it at around $100. the only thing i can find brand new out here is a striker 2 formula @ $140

edit: it's still alive! turns out i had to replace the cmos bat..should've thought about that after having this thing running for over 3 years

Hey guys....so i got this board (DFI LANPARTY P35 T2R) from a friend in Johannesburg. He claims it got hit by lightning.
So he brought it down when he was in Durban and i gave it a go to try revive it.

I succeeded in getting it to POST. But i couldn't get the board to boot on any sort of device IDE SATA USB.

Well last night i put it in the oven again at a higher temp....of around 200degrees, let it baked, resting on 4 foil balls on each corner of the board.

Took it out of the oven, "Gas oven"...so temp could vary. And then put it straight into the deep freeze to cool down. The oven being off was open and cooling off. So put it back in there before condensation happened...

So this morning i put everything into the board...E8400, 8800GT 450watt PSU with all 12v rails connected...plugged in a SATA with windows on it.

Just went into safe mode just incase of stability...and well.

DFI is alive. Im probably the one of two dudes in South Africa with one of these thats still working. My previous one that got hit by lightning got sent back and i was credited soooo. Ive heard out of the 10 that were brought into the country i think its myself and Seth in Capetown with working DFI P35's.

Best boards ever.... Have a look.... .

    Way to go B

The explanation of how you revived it sounds wild but looking at your video the board looks in good order..... not melted!

Can’t remember what I did with my P35, I haven’t got it anymore but my P45 is still strong as it was out of the box. Real sad DFI have given up I loved the X58 & I'm sure the P67 would have been sick if they made it.

Good to hear from you again

Um so now ive gotta get some decent DDR2 stick, ive got one piece of ballatix 1gig...DDR2 1000.

So would be a plan to use that. But want to use my E8400. coz of its higher FSB which ive taken her to..lol 600. Want at least 620.

So time to start clocking again ....about dam time aswell.

Craig keep well. Should start having this thread more active soon.

I've reflowed RAM loads of times even done a CPU once but I always melt something... bit of plastic, timing sticker etc. Works well though.

I dont have any good DDR2 anymore its all been begged & borrowed off me otherwise I would send it over. My 8500 still makes 600+ fsb no problem & has been running 4GHz 24/7 for years @ 1.25v!!! cracking CPU.

I'll keep a look out for some results, have fun

Yes mate, I keep all that sort of stuff & it still comes in handy now and again.

I think they are still on the DFI website but it's down atm.

I have my DFI P35 file here got some bios's in there too, just rar'ed it up & uploading it to mediafire right now. I'll post the link when its done. Don't know how up to date they are but should get you going.
