Sorry to hear, mine kept trucking until i switched to a 655 for some more pressure. This was with 2x fairly restrictive heatercores, cpu/gpu/nb block too. Poor thing was barely moving water

Still it was a $30 pond/aquarium pump and for me at least, reliable to a fault.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but would EK DCP 2.2 pump be able to handle a 240mm rad and cpu waterblock?

    Hey guys !

A little question about my DCP 4.0. I use it since few months and I put it on foam but I found it quite noisy. I only heard the pump when computer is on...
As it's my first watercooling, and so my first pump, I don't know if the noise is "normal" or if there is a problem with it...

Any reviews on this unit yet? I have a blown 355 and was wondering fi this would be a good long term replacement..the 355 lasted me all of 10 minutes.

I have a feeling that short section on the inlet might be causing some vibration to be transferred to your case. If there's pressure pushing up on the fitting and plate it's mounted to, that's a very likely cause.

    Warranty 2 years...
We have been in contact with users from more than 2 years and almost none RMA. These pumps are really reliable, trust me!

Not long term, but 10 months and no sign of any problem.

I have the 'little brick' pump, although only for a few months, and it's been trucking fine on a 19hour day schedule the whole time.

It was almost inaudible while it was sitting on the 1.5in thick wooden desk (leak test) but when I put it inside a case, it developed a small low frequency vibration that I can't seem to get rid off.

Is it good enough for a 360, 240 and 2 blocks?

I'm pretty sure the pump isn't meant to be mounted on its back like that.

From what i understand, the inlet should always be 90 degrees to the horizontal.

Well.. i note all pumps cause vibrations.

The only way i found to solve the issue is to hang with elastic system.

I do it for my 2 MCP and be sure i never heard it anymore.

i find that the vibrations aren't so bad, so long as they don't cause sympathetic vibrations . if that happens, there's not much you can do, except try to change the natural frequency of your case (or if you have an adjustable speed pump, you can tune the pump's frequency to be out of sync..)
    Sigs are obnoxious.

Had the baby version of these ages ago, and just recently I had to throw some parts together for a loop out of what I could find in the workshop. Which unfortunately meant my old Hydor, which rattled like a goodun So ordered one of the big EK's and popped it in, man it pushes the water around fast as ****

Eddy can you help me to choose the best pump / radiator configuration for this system :
I will buy the following waterblocks from EK :
    EK-Supreme HF - Acetal+Nickel
    2 X EK-FC470 GTX - Acetal+Nickel
    EK-FB KIT GA X58 - Acetal - Gigabyte

Should I buy two pumps and two radiators, in order to create to circuits ( cpu + MB / GPU ) or can I buy only the biggest pump with one radiator ( 360 mm or 480 mm ? )

    Thks !

I'd say one 4.0 pump would be OK for whole system.
But do choose as big radiator as possible.

If you are for extreme, make 2 loops and 2.2 pump would be OK for the GPU setup.

    Best rwgards, Eddy

Ok, thank you. If I use two distinct loops, do you think a 240mm radiator will enougth for the GPUs ?

BTW, Of course I am Extreme

    Thank you !

Yes, thats one of the big advantages of these pumps. The only real concern would be on cheaply made boards, but then who wants to bother with a loop on an el-cheapo board?
At Xtremesystems.org we don't help you save money on your cooling gear, instead we try to make you feel better about the insane ammount you've spent.

I'm wondering if the Jingway DP-1200 (DCP 4.0) is quieter than a DDC 3.1 with aftermarket top?
