I almost have 5 ghz stable on air with my i5 650, it really is very crazy for such a small board.

Almost makes me wish i went dual over quad, but for most of what I do, more real cores helps.

Testing 3.8ghz at 1.2 vcore under load. I forget what the bios setting is, 1.2785 or something, but 1.246 v drop i believe. I think i can live w/ 3.8ghz. It shouldn't be stressing the board out that much honestly.

My lowly G6950 is at 4.2 Ghz right now running LinX. Max load so far is 62C at 1.376V.

I'm a beta tester for this new case. I got an SFX by Silverstone, but a full size ATX power supply will fit. Drive bays are underneath the slim optical bay, which is under the power supply. Case can take 1 3.5" and 2 2.5" drives (I could probably squeeze 1 or 2 more in non-standard locations if I got tricky.

I can report that the Thermalright AXP-140 fits in the H55n-USB3 and Lian Li PC-Q08B case like it's a match made in heaven. It's a matter of a millimeter on two of the four sides, absolutely perfect! It's almost perfectly centered under the PSU. Load temps with the Yate-Loon D14SH-12 fan blowing directly upwards into the PSU has been lowered with 30C. Now @4.0Ghz on 1.25v, load 50C. Idles @ 32C with the fan spinning at 25% (650rpm). Dead silent. CPU is a dog though... Max OC is 4.6GHz on 1.4v...

Hmm, did not even test in push down config. I should have of course, give you guys some input on it. I don't think it's much of a difference, and after a couple of hours priming the MOSFETs was not really that hot. I could hold my finger on them for some 5 seconds before burn sensation, and could not find any fluctuating value in Speedfan that rose more than 20C as well.

this board runs very cool, especially with a nice fan blowing over the mosfets and memory.

I hope everybody has seen the competition at the bot with this board. There are two classes, 4ghz and an unlimited class for SuperPi 32M and I am thinking about picking up a Venom pot or possibly an F1EE since they are about to be replaced with something else.

This would be my first LN2 cpu pot and I want one that will work on a few different sockets. Also if anybody has any idea of where to get a decent sized dewar in California for LN2 then shoot me a pm, I have two of these boards and few i5's that are ready to see some sub zero temps

Ah, mine are running hotter than yours, which makes sense. Not sure how long this board will last w/ my quad at 3.8ghz, but I don't see it killing the board anytime soon.

The downward blowing fan just keeps my mosfets warm instead of very hot.

Unless you have a fairly powerful fan, it won't make TOO much difference. I can barely feel a Scythe GT 1850 blowing across the board where as a turned down san ace just has much more static pressure and provides a far better cooling experience for my set up.

i suggest you find another HDD somewhere and load up a light version of Windows Xp with some of the tweaks you'd need to run Pi even faster and try improving on your time. This H55 comp is about improving yourself and how you run Pi........thats the spirit of 32M SuperPi challenge threads anyways

That said, the Gigabyte board can't translate the extra GHz to fps, as the H55N failed to improve much on its dismal showing in Crysis even with the i5-661 ticking over at 4.4GHz. Clearly there is something amiss with the PCI-E connection of this board. However, that's hardly a damning criticism, as by installing a card that's longer than the board and taller than the CPU cooler, you'd have to house the system in a micro-ATX case, and which point you should opt for a more adaptable micro-ATX motherboard. Overall then, it's a mostly impressive outing for the H55N, with the only downside a practical irrelevance.

Yeah, I have yet to go this far either (as to implementing these tweaks), also using Win 7 Home Premium 64. Right now I'm just trying to beat my own times as I don't have a chance beating you more seasoned guys, especially with a lower-end CPU and crappy RAM.

I did have the best 32M super pi time for about 5 minutes when it actually took my 0 time submission by accident.

I've recently recieved two of these boards from Gigabyte, and I'm working on a article for 2 SFX builds, on HTPC with an i3 540, and one gaming rig with either my i5 670, or a new i5 655K I picked up. I'll be sure to post a link when it's done, should be another week or two
