Ah I see. So I guess there is no point in getting another CyberPower or TrippleLight UPS/Battery Backup. I suppose a simple surge protector should be good enough provided it covers the wattage requirements of the equipment. We were lucky though none of our equipment got burned. But I am amazed that the APC unit held up and still works after this disaster.

Would it be a wise investment for the short term period to get another 2 of these? or should I go with something cheaper like before like the CyberPower:

I have to buy at least 2 or 3 surge protectors but I was thinking an all in one type deal UPS/Surge supressor/protector and maybe even an hour or two of battary backup would be cheaper.... at leasts that is what we had before. The UPS did not provide surge protection to every outlet on the back of the unit ofcourse, just some of them while the others were strictly UPS only.

Also who would you recommend for the whole house protector? and any recommendation on the copper rods idea we talked about earlier... like the size of the rod?
