-Projekt- Phobya Cube Extreme by Cartago2202 UPDATE 26.07.2010

    Project:
    Phobya Cube Extreme
    by Cartago2202

Hello and welcome to my first Con project

When first I want to thank the companies Phobya and Aquatuning and specifically Christian Schultze of Aquatuning for assistance and provision of components to thank.

    About the project:

Over time and in light of increasing demands for water cooling and thus almost inevitably larger computer cases for internal installation, I am for me come to the conclusion that something must External ago. At first I immediately thought of MORA and Co. But that was me somehow normal / usual, and above all with too little autonomy, which therefore had to produce what has enough cooling capacity, and otherwise no other user has. So I came up with the idea of self-built housing for the water to create one myself. What were my needs? Well, above all not too large, but potent enough to even the strongest components cool enough, even in overclocked state, and also a degree of security for the future had to be given, even though my Basteldrang So not to simply will be achievable.

    Part 1: Planning

In planning, I, for the first time, the SketchUp program from Google also used. After initial difficulties, I had the hang of it and quickly came forward. Here are some pictures from the planning phase:

As you can see, connectors, the cube of aluminum profiles and "Alfer-connect"-made, to which the pages are stuck because I do not like visually would simply screw one. In each page is a Phobya 200 Extreme Radiator, center the Phobya DC12-400 pump and HeatMaster for controlling and monitoring .....

More I will not disclose the time being: eat: I think that I was in a weekly interval, the project will update here

That will be just a Google translation, re-factor it takes me a little and then I'll note it here reins again

    Thanks Cartago2202

Imho added extra fans blowing in or out the cube on top & bottom (reverse to planned rad air flow) should enhance cooling. I'd go for them stacked in one plane though instead of cube placement (maybe divided in 2 sets with 2 rads though, for each to be usuable on loop of it's own). Though width and height will double, it will be much thinner and no problems with airflow.
Fans on rads as is in your pic (with no extra fans) will work extra hard on compressing air in box or vacuuming there depending on airflow direction resulting in less airflow/less cooling from that much rad area then it is really capable of.

except for the translation from german to english, that looks cool

question: what are you expecting to cool with these radiators???

Besides that, there are almost no good 200mm fans available. I'd suggest getting 2 240 rad's instead. It's cheaper and will probably give you more performance and less restriction too.

Alexandros: IIRC @AT these rads were bundled with single yate loon 220mm (and tested with those in german forums). IIRC cooled good enough @ lowrpm range, performing on par with tripple 120 at very low rpms.

@LC shop with bad business practices, see bottom of the page, "This product was reviewed for you at the Overclockingstation Effizienzgurus". Use some online translation service eg. babelfish or google's translate on them.

Hey, a 200mm user! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

    Mini UPDATE:

since the week I could not do much (my father would heart surgery at 81 years!) and me, the air cooling my PC so true: puke: I have summarily made a small modification. But sees itself:

    before the conversion:

    Middle:

    almost finished:

and that is what is being done is made up of the Cube:

I think I'm a week a little further with my project in order to present you at length what may.

the framework is now finished. Alfer connect be still far to go in it to any inaccuracies of the cut for the pages.

T The sides are not unfortunately always yet arrived, but this is also not a problem. The colour concept is already fixed but execution is not decided, should be painted or verpulvert? Both do their have before and there disadvantages, I must be me yet clear. Until then would much me fun with the project about kommis and propose look
