    Latest Updates

    07/11/2010 - New build 1.0.7.42

    - Changed: RadeonPro won't use JumpLists anymore when the option is disabled in Windows start menu configuration
    - New: New Profile Wizard can now choose games from user's Steam games

    07/09/2010 - New build 1.0.7.41

    - Fixed: deleted profiles were not removed from Favorites lists
    - Changed: Recently played list is now reorganized when a game already on list is played again
    - Changed: profiles list's context menus now show an option to remove a item that's currently on Favorites list
    - Changed: Games Explorer items are now sorted by game title
    - New: added options to set maximum items to show on JumpLists and maximum items to show on Recently played games, look for them at program Settings
    - Enhanced: when selecting a game from Games Explorer, the New Profile Wizard now detects multiple executables on game directory and displays a list so the user can pick the right one. May be handy when the Games Explore's item points to the launcher instead of the game executable.

    07/08/2010 - New build 1.0.7.40

    - Fixed: error validating steam path

    07/08/2010 - New build 1.0.7.39

Nice that the games explorer now supports Steam, although it'd be even better if Steam games supported forcing profiles. However, two issues - firstly, scanning the Steam Store every time the games explorer is launched is not ideal for if you don't have an always-on internet connection, and takes quite a long time, making adding multiple games at a time fairly irritating. An option to store the previous retrieved list, with a manual refresh button for if the user has acquired a new Steam game, would be much more user-friendly.

Secondly, every time I launch the Steam games explorer I get this error message after it finishes scanning -

Edit: Also, appears that less than half of my Steam games are actually showing up in the games explorer list - for example, Deus Ex GOTY does not appear, whereas Deus Ex: Invisible War does, neither Oblivion or Morrowind appear, Titan Quest appears whereas TQ: Immortal Throne does not, etc etc - however these game names show up above the "scanning for app ID" progress bar when the games explorer is building the list.

Thanks you for posting your thoughts about the new feature, it obviously needs improvement and there's where you all play a very important hole

The connection is needed because Steam doesn't stores all games information locally, the process first reads local directories looking for Application IDs, then scan the Applications IDs not found in first step looking at Steam store. The list is saved, but looks like some games (mods and others) aren't saved so they get scanned again when you open the wizard next time, time to find out why they are not being saved. The executables list is not saved and get scanned every time, I'll change that with an option to refresh the files list, thanks for suggesting it

About the error, I'll investigate it. Thanks again.

The games that don't appear on list have names different on disk, for example, "grand theft auto iv episodes from liberty city" is "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City" at steam store, I've made a list for those exceptions but I need to update for such cases but I still don't know how is the best way to get know which games are "misspelled".

    With a little more work, this can entirely replace CCC. To do this, I think all that needs doing is;

    - Enhance the overclocking feature a bit. Make it so users of cards that support voltage adjustment can do so. As well as adding a small artifact tester like furmark.
    - Add some kind of graphic like nVidia use so when users set various levels of AA / AF they can see the benefits without having to launch a game. A little FPS counter in the graphic window could be useful too.

Very cool. I'll be playing with this soon for crossfire rendering mode settings.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

Well, we have MSI Afterburner that does exactly what you want for item 1

For item 2, it may be possible.

NV control panel now displays a preview of AA/AF settings?

Yes, for Batman AA you can use the Video Spoof option and select a video card from NVIDIA to enjoy in-game AA processing.

I have it set like this

Video spoof is set as below

You need to add the Launcher to the triggers as shown below

New build has an improved detection rate - more games are now listed, although still not all - but the same mysterious object reference error I posted above still crops up.

My point in those suggestions was so RadeonPro becomes everybodys one stop - no more having to fiddle around in various software because its all under one roof And yes, NV have had a little graphic for ages which spins around showing different AA / AF settings whn you apply them

^ That seems to get everyone. You need to click to check for updates, then the skins will be listed to DL and automatically install

Thanks! The new build shall find more games as I'm using the directory in appinfo.vdf as a hint, using it RadeonPro can find GTA IV EFLC and other games it couldn't find before.

I understand, but adding a full blown overclocking feature like we can find in MSI Afterburner can't be done without a lot of effort, and TBH I don't have the know how to do it as Unwinder does.

Ah, I remember it, but the graphic only shows on screen where you select Performance/Quality/Custom settings, right? That would be easy but I don't know where to put such graphic in RadeonPro interface as we don't have a presets selection screen.

New build has fixed error message on scanning for Steam games. I've compiled a list of games that the Games Explorer can't find on my system using latest build:

    Blue Shift: Unlocked
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
    Dragon Age: Awakening
    Doom 3
    Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil
    DOOM II: Hell on Earth
    Master Levels for DOOM II
    Quake II
    QUake II: Ground Zero
    Quake II: The Reckoning
    Star Wars: Dark Forces
Star Wars Jedi Knigh: Dark Forces II

There's about another 50 titles I own on Steam that I don't have the HDD space to install at the moment, so I'll try and post back if I have any issues when I get around to playing them all
