Are there any i7-980X Gulftown owners trying to use this board and still having throttling issues?

I've just added a new feature to a program I've been working on for a while called ThrottleStop. If you run this program and right click on it, there should be a menu option called Turbo Power Limit. If you have an Extreme CPU that supports this feature, you might be able to increase the TDP and TDC limits for your CPU on the fly. With any luck, maybe there will be no more turbo throttling when trying to push an i7-980X hard on this board.

This new feature is in the very early stages of testing so let me know if this solves anything. When you first open the Turbo Power Limit window, it should show you the default TDP / TDC values for your CPU. I'm hoping that increasing those values might encourage the CPU to keep delivering full turbo boost rather than throttling.

The Intel publicly available documentation is non-existent and I don't own an i7-980X so it's possible there might be a minor bug or two that needs to be fixed up. Post some screen shots if you have this combo so I can have a look.

Edit: The first test on a Core i7-940XM mobile CPU shows that this new feature increases power consumption and reduces the amount of turbo throttling. Hopefully it does the same on the Core i7-980X.
