Maybe a little exposure and a Thank you thread?
It's not something they need as lets face it, their current boards are excellent and selling well.
I had a X58 UD4 board here and no issues at all and I mean none.

gigabyte doesnt need to rely on this sort of thing to get people
to,as you say buy from "the good guys".they are doing very well
simply based on the quality and performance of their boards.
they have some of the best OCing boards available.

Every company laps up free good PR, espcially for causes.

geez guys, i said its a great thing and it really is!
but its not gigabyte giving up their material wealth to save humanity out of good will without any ulterior motives...

no, you suggested gigabyte had no ulterior motives whatsoever, and it would be an insult to both our intelligences to claim you wouldnt know otherwise your trying to glue a horn onto a beautiful white horse gigabyte gave to all of us and call it a unicorn... why? isnt a beautiful white horse good enough? you mean it well, but i disagree in making it look like more than what it really is... and why am i being negative? im being realistic...
its a great thing, im surprised about it and i really DO wish to see more of this.

its more like you claiming the glass is 110% full which is awesome i say its 100% full and its awesome.
im not being negative at all in this case, my reaction was and is 100% positive and i clearly expressed that in my post. i dont get why you felt you had to make it look like more than it already is... its like passing an exam with 98% and then using an erazer to fake the score and turn it into a 99%... why would you do that? and how am i negative for pointing out that its 98% and not 99? the result is still really really good, so hows it negative?
whatever, seems im entertaining you guys, and gigabyte got the props they deserve, so who cares hahah

Sasha and others, I understand your point of view and although you are right there is the PR part, such a wonderful gesture doesn't deserve these comments.

Gigabyte gets my deep respect for this.
Sometimes a good slap in the face is all you need

The point is that in a thread like this whose intent is to say thank you nothing negative is needed or wanted to be blunt.
The comments about PR do nothing but take away from the intent of the thread.
If you knew how this all came about maybe you'd think differently.
I was talking to Dinos22 on another subject and made this comment:
"Hey,if you guys ever get any boards that need a home I'll make sure they get into the hands of people that will put them to good use."
He said:"I like that, let me see what I can do."
That simple,no behind the scenes games or private aggrements.
Just two guys talking and one went and pushed it through.
He never mentioned that there were any stipulations.
The thread was my idea and out of pure courtesy to say Thank You.
Now I'll say it again; Thanks Gigabyte and Dinos22..
Very nice of you to do this.
