another point to M3N-HT Bios 3106: I need now more idle-vcore.
    with bios 3002 my X6 1090T was stable with 800MHz / 0.66V vcore, now with 3106 I need for 800MHz at least 0.704V!

If I flash back to 3002 it's stable again with 0.66V vcore. all settings are equal!

    why?

    thanks bingo!

I have my Thuban / ch4 running strong on Vista 64 , a bitter sweet thing is I ordered Windows 7 yesterday so Monday I will have to get a new os running strong . The sweetness is some benches I will gain some good ground . Okay , so I wanted to thank Bingo again for giving us the heads up on bios releases before Asus . I wanted to let all know that 905 fixed my dynamic HT 2MHz swing when I first flashed to 905 , however after next start up of my rig the dynamic HT 2MHz swing was there again . Its not a major problem for me but it shouldn't be doing this with our bios set up correctly .

Same for me with the M4A79 since a few bios versions ago.
Was able to use 0.7V and even 0.67V but now with everything below 0.725V the system instantly freezes (using K10Stat to adjust voltage)

anyone able to set their NB to 2800 and successfully boot windows with the m4a79t on bios 3205? me and a friend both cannot seem to do it at all, I even ram memtest prior to booting to verify that it wasn't the memory, terrible timings as well and no change, it just freezes sometimes with the HD light fully on with no blinking, other times no light at all.

    two seperate procs (x4 955 and 1055T)

Hmm now having problems with 0905 here on the CH IV.

C1E and cool and quiet are greyed out. I can't enable them.

More importantly I can't get my voltages to stick beyond a certain clock. I was doing 4.0GHz fine on my older BIOS, now I can't get past 3.5 because it resets my voltages when I change my CPU clock beyond a certain point.

My OC fails because it's trying to apply stock voltage when I swing @ 4.0GHz.

I'm using all the settings I did before for 4.0GHz, ie LLC and offset are disabled.

BIOS is acting weird. I tried flashing it again, and it didn't change the situation.

so I've got a weird issue with the m4a79t on bios 3205, I would get a lockup and then a BSOD shortly after (usually 5-10 seconds), the bsod error is "a Clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval 0x00000101", thought more voltage would fix it so I started upping them one by one to no avail (gave up after 1.4v cpu / 1.4 nb-vid).

I've noticed my NB-VID adjusting itself randomly as if CnQ was enabled, going from 1.3 to 1.15 (1.3 is set in bios), been running NB @ 2700 but kinda wanted to go higher, I think this is what prevents windows from booting up when set to 2800 and higher.

now I wouldn't mind it if it acted properly and didn't shift under cpu load , but I can reproduce the lockup BSOD with Linx by setting 2-3 threads and running it for 5 minutes, ran 9-9-9-24 timings to rule out the ram, like clockwork the nb-vid goes up and down non-stop. the only time I've noticed it not shift around was when I set 6 threads, same issue with prime95 but it usually takes longer.

if I open amd overdrive and set my nb-vid just a tad higher like 1.31 or so and hitting apply, then selecting 1.3, hitting apply again and it was fine... doesn't shift around anymore and can run Linx for hours with no issue. I would like a more permanent fix then having to change it every time in AOD.

    Thanks folks!

I think I did let it load the AMD AHCI drivers when I DL's the ATI driver package.
For now I'm fine with the IDE drivers though...
I'll try reverting to the the Win7 AHCI next time I get bored....

ya dave give it a shot. it only takes a second. they are close, but i actually get a little better performance out of the win7 ahci rather than amd ahci... make sure you do some tests b4 you switch them to see if there is a difference. heres how to load ms ahci

    - Run Regedit (from the command prompt)
    - Navigate to "High Key Local Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci"
    - edit the "Start" key and change the value from what it is to "0" - this will tell win7 to check for AHCI on next boot and install the AHCI driver if it is in AHCI mode
    - shut down & enable ahci in bios
    - boot up & windows should see its in ahci & load driver automatically

Same here on M4A89GTD Pro/USB3. Maybe it's a matter of update process? I don't remember right, but it's probable I didn't reset BIOS back to default before flashing. Otherwise I saw an improvement in memory OC, but still not stable at 2000MHz - might be my chip or me myself . Somehow the same settings aren't as stable as before, I had to up the cpu voltage a little.

Change the "CPU & NB Voltage mode" from "Manual" to "Offset" and you can use C1E and CnQ.

Lets add another bug to the list.

    0905 bios CH4F

Pretested ram clocks at 2000+ on stock cooler fail with a d5 post code below -80C.

We are talking say a 2100 ram clock with only 3200/2200 CPU/NB so high clocks on CPU/NB are not the factor.

Kinda makes the high ram clocks a moot point, even DI benching will never be able to max out NB clocks.....making the high ram clocks sort of pointless.

    I am back.
    Status Update -
    1. We are taking a SWAT team approach on each board with the AMD BIOS group. The emphasis will be on addressing the top problems with each BIOS/Board combination and moving to the next board on the list. The following boards are in the first group -
    a. Crosshair IV Formula
    b. M3A79 Deluxe Series
    c. M4A79 Deluxe Series
    d. M3N Series

I expect the first supported Beta BIOS releases early next week.

Oh, something weird i experienced with my CIVF. Sometimes the clock seme to reset itself but usually only the hour, the minutes stay correct. So at 7:15 real time for example it will show 14:15. Also the date remaines fine. This is with bios 0905.

hope the m4a79t gets its issues fixed as well, would really like to stop seeing the nb-vid jump up and down like a fat kid for cake.

what's about the M3N-HT bios which you guys were testing already last week? I'm now waiting nearly 2 month for a better, not too bugged bios, you are always writing about beta tests and now again 3 other mainboards are prefered against the M3N-series :-/

To their defense alot of these issues stem from AMD's turbo mode. I have to give them props where its due as MSI boards (like 80% of them) on AM2 both AMD and nvidia alike dont support thuban yet.

I have a M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 and I'm disappointed because the Core Unlocker function isn't working. With my previous board I was able to unlock my PII X2 550 to a X4 B50. Now I have DDR3, USB3, Sata-3 but a dual core CPU.
I've seen more users with the same problem with this board or others with the new core unlocker. I hope this is a BIOS issue, because if not I'll have to sell it (loose money) and buy a new one (Gibabyte, AsRock...) that really unlocks the CPU.
