Same here. I guess you could use some red spray paint on it.

Eddy I see it's posted on your website now. Do you have any pics of the nickel version with the plexi top. Wonder what they would look like on the board.

I've never used a mobo block, but I'm really liking the look of the EK version!
Like others have said, would be nice with some red on it though...

I have an Antec spot cool over the stock NB heatsink now and I still see NB temps ~54c under stress.
Anyone have a clue as to wether watercooling the NB may help with HTRef clocking on the C4F?

I only ask because my board gets flaky @ anything over 300 even when everything else is taken out of the equation.
If this could help me get higher HTRef clocks it would probably be money well spent...

Andreoid, those blocks nickleplated with black allanhead screws would look a ton better imho. Just a suggestion.

Dave, just point an agressive fan at the NB cooling and see if there's any improvement. If not the waterblock won't help you other than looking good.

Drop in the trusty old deneb and see if you can go 300+, it could as well be your cpu.

    Good call Zeus...
I've got an extra noisy UltraKaze I could sit on the videocard to test it out.

I've been pushing the HTref tonight and it's still pretty frustrating, 304 is the best I can get to post and I've been pushing subV's quite a bit...

Maybe I'm just hung up on the 53c temp stability thing on PHII and applying it to the NB, but it makes sense to me in a strange way...

Next time i get a hair, I'll try the UltraKaze on the NB sink...

we are not able to nickel or blacknickel our copper bottoms

yes... the pwms are cooled by the thermal conductivity of the copper. and water flows ..

    Thanks for clearing that up...

Just also wanted to check if the gd70 block fits the 890 and 790fx as well. And does the crosshair IV have a similar block...all three seem to be very similar, but I am sure here could be smaller details which are different. I am not able to open the compatibility link in your sig.

the Anfi-tec Msi 790FX lightcoverblock can only be used at the Msi 790FX
because the 890fx does have a bad sitting capacitor on the board. the 890 lightcover does have a smaller top than the 790fx block.

the compatibility link is a pdf file

Eddy, any chance of a picture or two of this block instead of a render? Since there's no pic on your site too and no stock i'm assuming this block hasn't been produced yet?

I'm kinda waiting on this block too Zeus...

I tried your suggestion and placed a Scythe UltraKaze over the NB Sink tonight. The results weren't all that impressive, but I did manage to post @ 308 HtRef...

Although the results weren't all that great, I'm sure that block would look alot better than having the SpotCool screwed to my mobo, and might actually give me a little more headroom...

I have to say dude... I'm really liking this C4F!
I may keep this board for awhile, so investing in a Mobo block might not be a bad investment...

    Good.

If possible i'd like to see the internals too. I want to add the block to my exsisting loop that already has a cpu block and 2x 5870 fullcoverblock so i don't want to add too much restriction.

Dave, i also planned to keep this one for a while. Like you said the block will look good on it i'm sure!

Any word on this block yet Eddy?

I saw pictures of the block itself on EKs online store and it looks pretty much the same as the render image that Eddy posted earlier. What I really want to see is internals and to see if Eddy made any last minute changes or even added some red in there someplace to match the CH4s color scheme.

I noticed the EK site says the blocks are available (limited supply)....

Does anyone have a clue as to how long it would take to get one shipped to the US with normal shipping?

IMO it should not take longer than 2 weeks.
Depends on customs as well (if they see it as a potential cooler for explosive device, they might decide to examine it and your record as well )

I would like to see a picture with it mounted onto Crosshair IV Formula motherboard, that would give a better impression than just the block pictured.

It would also give a good indication on how the threads for the barbs/fittings are placed.
