I think it's the norm so far....mine has imperfect pins.

I don't think it's a big deal though. I didn't even think any of it until I saw the complaints in this thread

(i.e., it doesn't look bad in person, it just looks like some are offset a little)

EDIT: @StAndrew, the base and structure screws are arranged in a rectangle, so the base can only be rotated 180 degrees so there's only one orientation with respect to where the long/short faces of the rectangular pins face.
