I agree that we need to push for we are losing places on the ladder. To me it seem the most active place here is the penalty thread, but everywhere else looks like dead in comparison with maybe a year ago. We lost some big hitters because they felt it was needed to stop folding activity due to the problem-prone clients and WUs, since that time it all went downhill. Does anyone has a convincing idea how to fix this?! A race is the wrong way I think, it only raises the PPD of people already here. Maybe we should have sort of an "call to arms", XS wide.

Yeah maybe... I can kind of see where they were coming from, given a large farm, but I dont' usually have issues with the GPU2 client. It just, well, works 95% of the time But then, many things that plague people with computers (gfx drivers for example) I rarely have a problem with. Guess I'm lucky.

I have a couple of nvidia cards that run trouble-free pretty much around the clock, week after week. Then there's my big fancy gtx260 that needs baby sitting all the time... it is frustrating to recruit new folders and explain why their hardware works sometimes or not others. The fact that these GPU clients are still beta after three years is just pathetic...

I too had problems with my 260 GTX , uninstalling and reinstalling the client worked for me, no problems since.

I ran my 260GTX with the 197.45's and now with the 257.21's and have had no issues at all. Perhaps you need to delete, re-install and update your drivers. That card should be producing well for you.
