    The Dragon Returns_Giga 890FXA-UD7+1090T @ 4.9GHz Validated & PI1m Sub 15s on Air

Excellent efficiency & stability can be easily found in this board
The F2 bios has no jumping CPU/HT/NB freq. or bouncing Vcore/NB Volt. Whatsoever
It’s never been easy producing a nice MB & its’ bios to cater for a newly released 6 core CPU. The R&D Team has done a great job on this one.

As a Giga fan myself, I’m very happy to see this amazing performance
The 6 PCIe gives ppl a bonus. When you need them, they’re there @ your service

Keep up the good work, Gigabyte !!!

    Config:-
    AMD 1090T be Thuban
    Gigabyte 890FXA-UD7
    Corsair 1600 C6
    OCZ Vertex 2 50G
    OCZ 1000w 80+
    Yasya CPU Cooler
    GC2 Extreme

    The basic 4G

    3300 NB + 1888 C6 = 13201 read & 10998 write. The Max I could reach on air

    3DM06 @ 4.4GHz = 8505 CPU score. What can I say?

    4.634GHz under ambient 20c gave me a PI1m @ 14.703s

With stable freq.& volt., I could easily hit 4.9GHz on air @ 2nd try

My son has just taken a video for me

Holy popcorn brother! You make it look so easy.

That is one very fine cpu you've got there. Seems like everything comes together nicely in that Giga board. Great job Mad, respect!

Mad, you left the water block on the NB instead of the passive cooler they ship .. does this affect anything much ?

I've got this board in it's box ready to be installed and I think the silent pipe cooler is total overkill

MAD: perfect, what series and SN !!! Your superpi 1M is hard! Can u test for me max AIR Cinebench? Im interesting for, if my chip is +- as good as yours...I can run Cinebenchs with +- 1.5V at 4380 MHz with AIR, 3D06 at 4470 MHz to time. And last wish, test please max stability clock with air (LinX 20 rounds or 1-3h prime blend). Next week i must try more than 4800 MHz too

    It's a HKD 45 dollar fan "AVC" around 3000 rpm & it's good
Actually, the Yasya CPU Cooler doesn't need any high speed fan
So I gave up on the cutting-finger "Delta"

    Frankly, no...
I think giga is working on it. Hope they can succeed

It'll help a little using that cooler with a fan
    "Overkill" ? HaHah....!

Didn't try much on 32m. But surely the efficiency was lower than I expected with high NB on diff. MBs.
Are you thinking of the ram divider stuff ?

    Yes, Sir !
    It's my same old chip
Flanker, keep pushing! you're getting very close to the top of the list, Bro.
Can't promise you on this one as I have other MBs to test with

BTW, haven't seen "Cele" for a long time. Anyone knows how he's been doing ?

Mad, do you have a 64bit OS? I'd like to see how far you could push it on a 64bit OS. People might disagree but i'm pretty sure a 64bit OS is much harder for overclocking i.e. requires more volts.

Not yet tested...I supposed anything up to 380 on air wouldn't be a problem with giga

64bits ?! no, I dun ATM. 32bits XP is surely the easiest OS. However, if 64 bits is properly trimmed, I think it wouldn't have much diff. for CPUZ
