Re-measured with another DMM (Fluke) 1.476Vcore and 1.647Vdimm with 1.44375V and 1.625V set in bios respectively.

    Not that far off imho.

Its odd that mine is overvolting over 2x as much as yours. Makes me wonder if it may be a bad solder job or a problem with voltage regulation.

Imho when you pay a decent amount for a high end board these problems should be non-existent.

Without trying to be rude, did you try another DMM? Cheap DMM's (not saying yours is cheap since you didn't say what make/model it is) tend to read out wrong value's.

Ive actually tried 3 diff dmm's, 2 mastercrafts and my new fluke. The mc's actually read lower then the fluke by .01-.02v. I have to put my trust in the fluke especially with a $400 pricetag. Ive even tried switching the leads between them all.

This is the fluke i own http://www.myflukestore.com/p1228/fluke_179.php

edit* remember also this is only under load, voltages read normal under idle.

Hmmm, my voltages are slightly raised at idle already and go up a little more under load, like the voltages i stated above. Maybe your board is worse than mine?

I have vcore set to 1.375v in bios but my dmm is reading 1.45v, nb\cpu is 1.2v in bios 1.25v with dmm, memory is 1.8v in bios 1.85v with dmm. The only voltages that stay where they are set is sb and nb. All the fluctuation makes it virtually impossible to stabilize anything especially when the clock speed wanders more then my mind.

Im hoping the next bios fixes this along with the wandering htt and dropping nb\cpu voltage.
I assume you have load line calibration enabled with offset on? If so, that is part of your problem but we have not seen voltages that high from a number of boards and testers so I am concerned about your measurement points and DMM calibration. What BIOS are you on and have you modded the board? The NB/CPU fluctuation is fixed and AMD/Microsoft are involved in the HTT bounce, hint, if you use Windows 2000 Server SP2 you will not see the problem or hacking Win7 helps. We are working with both of them on it to see what we can do in the BIOS, but this is a problem related to Thuban and the 890FX.

Load line calibration was set to auto in the bios but no offset. I did some quick testing with llc off and i get a .05v vdroop under load. After a few reboots into windows with llc on and 1.375v set in bios, it idles at 1.41v and loads at 1.45v. As for measurement points i am using the points provided on the edge of the board. I cant guarantee that my dmm is perfectly calibrated but i cant imagine after 2 weeks it wouldn't be. No board mods either.

Ive noticed that cpuz seems to be the only monitor that jumps the htt, i tried a couple of other monitors and there was no movement(+- .1 or so maybe). Im so used to cpuz that i didnt question it, my bad on that one.

There's a new alpha bios out tonite for progression testing, just hold on. Don't act silly a few more days ain't gonna hurt if they can get it right... try this with another manufacturer and you might have to wait months to get it done...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Argh, i'm just SICK of it. It's that the motherboard is NOT stable even at default 2.8GHz settings. It just random BSODs on me and i tried everything, reinstalled OS 2 times already. This is a top of the range motherboard with a high-spec CPU it's supposed to work at least... This is a computer i use daily, not just an overclocking toy.

    </rant>

Okay, i'll hold on a few more days... *sigh*

And thanks for the supporting words hehe.

@ the second take.....Are you running SLI on this board?

That's not normal, I hardly ever had issues on air man... I would memtest each dimm seperately, maybe you got a lesser dimm or a bad dimm slot...

I agree with my belgian buddy, BSOD at stock is most likely a bad stick of ram.

I have tried four boards and nine CPUs now and do not have this variance, however, we are working on optimizing LLC on the voltage overshoot and this should be improved in an upcoming BIOS release. Maybe your particular combination and DMM measurement is just reading higher than we are seeing at this point.

Also, we will tighten the voltages slightly with LLC disabled but will still meet AMD's requirements.

I would check your memory first, CPU second.
