Actually on the Mushkin support forum they issued a statement way back in July last yr that they were suspending purchase of Elpida Hyper chips for new builds, which I take it applies mainly to their 2000MHz modules, until a solution can be found.
However they claimed they weren't having an above normal failure rate as others had, so it appeared to be a precautionary measure. What I'd like to know is, are there any other manufacturers like Samsung, Micron, etc, making suitable 2000MHz chips?
I know a lot of people advocate getting 1600MHz RAM and OCing it to 2000MHz with something like 9 timings, but getting the Redline 3x2GB kit for $280 at 8 timings sounds pretty good to me. I don't want to have to deal with the trial and error voltage and timing settings. I just want to know if the chips used in the 2000MHz ones are reliable?
