At first i never liked the look of compression fittings, too bulky for my liking.

But after seeing it more and more it grew on me and from the moment i had one in my hand i was hooked.

Now i even like the look of them.

Easy to use, safe, and pretty n00bproof.

    No more barbs for me.

1/2" ID / 3/4" OD UV tubing with Spring clamps. I took one off after a day on a test fit. The impression on the tubing is excellent. Great seal.

Zip-ties work great, but they don't self adjust.

Compressions are pretty, work well, but expensive.

    Never used herbies.

Screw type clamps are good, if they have a smooth ID that doesn't allow the clamp to dig into the tubing. Can overtighten and crush fittings.

    my experiences:

    1. herbies from Swifty- leaked and never got tight enough
    2. worm-drives- looks pants, but sealed. Very difficult to fit in some areas, led to leaking from after-seal barb manipulation
    3. zipties x2- never leaked, can be finicky
    4. 3/8" tubing over 1/2" barbs + nothing- leaked immediately
    5. 3/8" tbing over 1/2" barbs + single ziptie= nirvana

I gave all my barbs away. Use only compression fittings now. Yes it is expensive but it looks great and also seals well when applied properly.

I am with you on that.

    Any problems yet?

Any advice on how to do it properly?
