Have other teams ramped up in response?
That would be how I would judge the success of the thing.

I assume the point is to increase "overall" WCG production, preferably with a longer term knock-on effect: ie, new crunchers joining the fray and staying on afterwards.

I guess we can only hope that our new members continue past the end of the challenge. I think that at least most of them will. Next thing will be, in a few months, to repeat this challenge.

I started it just for the comp but I think I'll leave most of the rigs running it 24/7, it's fun.

Bad timing on that sir, summer is upon us. Already in the 90s this week in Texas.

I was able to get permission for all out running this week from the wife, but thats going to be difficult as our AC bill kicks in.

*shrug* As long as you keep one rig up and put the rest up come autumn. I may have to slow production, too.

I will absolutly keep crunching after may 8th. I have some new stuff comming that wont be there on time for the supercomputer week but it will help me go higher in the rac standing. Goal for the beginning of summer is top 50 rac( i am already in top 100) and at the end of summer, want to be as near as possible to top 20 with 3-4 rig max.

Was curious about that myself, looking at WCG Global Statistics its hard to tell if the overall production at WCG has gone up or not, I'm wondering how many people that haven't crunched before have joined and how many people that were already crunching moved to XS for the challenge.

I was solo crunching already, but with all the great folks on XS I'll just keep on the team now. Just ordered a Sossaman rig.....

It sounds like we've got some new addicts.

From what I can see the new team members are mostly XS folks and maybe 25-50 that came in from other teams to help out.
Then a few that weren't on any team but were on WCG came.
I would guess that WCG as a whole must've increased in the past 10 days..
    Just had to..

There's another plus to all this that hasn't been mentioned:
With all these new folks we've had a chance to meet some excellent new people in this part of the forum.
As I told one of the admins the other day, there is no down side to this no matter what the final numbers are.
