    Hey radaja, Jor3lBR and andressergio,

Look's like you guys been busy. I to have been busy playing with my 920 and UD7.

But, seems that I'm back in this thread. I was able to find an EP45-UD3R Re.1.1 for my kids rig. Their board conked out (EP43-US3L never OC'ed) and needed a replacement.

Damn, the EP45-UD3R Rev1.1 are hard to find, even the "P". But luckily my friend in Tokyo was able to get me one.

I'll be playing with a Q9550 on this board, let's see what it can do. Luckily I still have my Q9650/UD3R settings which I can use a basis for my OC settings.

    Cheers!

@xzulu,yea i tried an i7-920,tried the i3-530,tried an AMD Phenom II then another i3-530 and now im back
with an i7-920,but i still have a craving for the UD3P/R's and find myself thinking about getting another UD3P.
these are just such fun boards.i think if i ever do decide to sell my i7 setup,i will definitely be going back to the
    UD3P and a golden Q9650.but we'll see.
how do you like the UD7?i thought about getting one but went with the X58A-UD3R.
good luck with your kid's rig.

    @radaja

    Yes, that's very true.

The first X58 I bought was the Asus P6T, used it for a week, then got the X58-UD5, sold it and got the UD7. I need better cooling for my IOH, with the UD5 my temps were high, but on the UD7 my temps were 10C cooler, thanks to the Silent Pipe.

I'm going to have fun with the EP45-UD3R I'm sure. I had a hard time getting one. Tried amazon, newegg, even I had some friends in Singapore to get one for me, but no more.

    Thanks! Cheers!

andressergio I just picked up the same board, Kingston HyperX DDR3 2000 c9, and two X-25V drives that will be raided. I am hoping that I can get this Q9650 to 4.5 this time.

I also think I am going to sell my low vid Q9650 and pick up a Xeon X3380.

It's funny I bought the new board along with an i7 930, X58A UD3R, and I haven't even opened the box on the i7 yet

I have played with a few before, but I don't know what it is about the Q9650 + p45, its very smooth and it's fun to overclock. I really want a Xeon X3380 but $569.99 is alot for old hardware. The other option is sell the Q9650 and the i7 930 and pick up a Xeon X56XX series chip. The cheapest hexa core is like thousand dollars

    Ya, those Hexa-Cores are expensive!!

P45 is a very strong board!! I'd still be using mine if 1366 was not available, never have been all that impressed with 1156 (of course I haven't used it much though either)

this is on the EP45T USB3 with DDR3

its hot here today, it should be much cooler in a few hours

also my UD3P might be for sale along with my GSkill 1100's.

Either way this is a great board for any one that still likes to play with socket 775.
