Hello XS
I recently updated my bios(1504 from 1306) and I think I have done something
because my vcore is unstable as hell for some reason. Idle it is around 1.244v
and load it reaches up to 1.290v.
I have it set to 1.2500v in bios and I know mycpu needs around 1.24v to
be able to run 4ghz. What is wrong with my settings? My settings are:
AI overclock - manual
OC from CPU level up - auto
OC from Memory level up - auto
CPU Ratio setting - 25x
BCLK frequency - 160
PCIE frequency - 101
DRAM frequency - DDR3 1604MHz
UCLK frequency - AUTO
QPI frequency - AUTO
Dram timing control:
SETTINGS
1st iformation - 8-8-8-22
EPU II phase control - full phase
Load-line calibration - enable
CPU differential amplitude - auto
Extreme OV - disabled
Cpu voltage - 1.2500v
CPU PLL voltage - auto(1.82v)
QPI-Dram voltage - 1.3500v
IOH voltage - 1.151v
IOH PCIE voltage - auto
ICH voltage- 1.151v
ICH PCIE voltage - auto
DRAM Bus voltage - 1.65v unsure which is dram volt but it is set to 1.65xxx
DRAM REF voltage - 1.65v
Debug mode - string
Keyboard TeakIt control - disabled
CPU spread spectrum - disabled
PCIE spectrum - disabled
CPU clock skew - auto
IOH clock skew - auto
CPU configuration:
CPU Ratio Setting - 25x
C1E Support - enable
Hardware prefetcher - enable
Adjacent Cache line prefetcher - enable
Intel Virtualization tech - enable
CPU TM Function - enable
Execute Disabled bit - enable
Intel HT Technology - enable
Active Processor Cores - all
A20M - enable
Intel Speedstep tech - disable
Intel Turbo Mode tech - enable
Intel C-STATE tech - enable
What is wrong I got it stable at 1.256v before always and that
was perfect for me but now it seems unstable. I dosent matter
if I disable LLC or have it enabled it the vecore still goes up and down.
Full system specc:
CPU: i7 965@ 4ghz(160x25)
MOBO: ASUS RE II bios(1504)
GFX: ASUS RADEON 4870X2
RAM: Corsair Dominator 3x2gb 1600mhz 8-8-8-24
PSU: Corsair HX1000
HDD: 2x Intel G2 80gb raid0, 2x WD 500gb raid0 and 1TB WD non raid member.
cpu and gfx is watercooled and I have pretty much all cpu settings
enabled except Intel Speedstep tech should I disable something?.
My computer passes 20 times in linX as it is now but I dont like to
have a jumpy vcore as it ruins for me if I want to OC the cpu to 4.2ghz.
Also my QPIv is quite high but it needs to be over 1.35v with this cpu otherwise it becomes unstable.
