Asked price is too much for 1Gb model if this was 2Gb with the same clock it would be much fair.
For $500 rather get a GTX 480 instead, when are the 2Gb models suppose to come ?

How am I going to take it to my photographer to take the photos, have it back 1-2 days later, and insulate and mod it to bench FFS!

I just bought two of these for crossfire screw Nvidia!!!!
Actually the review is out for a SINGLE card and it beats GTX480 in some games and loses in others.
The greatest victory by GTX480 in a single game was 5 FPS higher than this Gigabyte card.
The Gigabyte card beat the GTX480 by 8 FPS in another game.
So this card is equal to GTX480 if not slightly better when you consider noise, power consumption and heat.
Two of them in Xfire is possible without burning down the house or frying the electric power grid for your city.
I am very much looking forward to having two of these in Xfire - the drivers are mature now and I will get amazing performance with a 980X at 4.2Ghz.
Two of these are going to rock GTX480 and GTX480 SLI in the face!!
Your posts are just annoying theout of me now mmorpgfocus.
Take youring rant elsewhere that some 8 year old gamers might actually give a
about what you are dribbling in more than one thread
Wow, havent got revved up in a forum for a long time now.....
Now lets see if these retail cards can match the clocks put up by the preview cards![]()
Ahem mmorpgfocus you're off-topic with that comment, and I'd also like to see where that "the review is online" you posted is...
By the way we're talking about extreme overclocking clocks not air cooled benchable clocks.

[QUOTE=mmorpgfocus;4345314]I ordered two for crossfire to mate with a 980X 4.2Ghz and they are going to make sweet love giving 100+ FPS in all games and better image quality than NVIDIA.[QUOTE]
Good..we're happy for you ....really. Now go enjoy your cards & cpu, play a game or something, you certainly don't need all that horsepower to post on an Xtreme OCing site.
What you fail to realize is probably 90 percent of the people in this thread could care less about heat, noise, etc. because the card or cards will be going under LN2. Performance is the name of the game here, and while availability is limited & price gouging is occurring, we all can't wait to get our hands on them because initial testing has shown that these cards are going to "ROCK the BOT"
Much like in the REAL ESTATE world where "LOCATION, LOCATION" is the catch phrase....here its "PERFORMANCE"!! & I and many others could give a ratz behind about noise and heat......regardless of the manufacturer.
Waiter....check please!!!

Are these the cards AMD were talking about being ready for fermi? With the markups and all, these cards cost the same as fermi, but your defnitely getting alot less hardware for the money. But considering the timing of these cards, I don't think the 5890 is coming out.

REVIEW:
SHOWS COMPLETE PWNAGE OF GTX480 BY THIS GIGABYTE CARD!!!!
5870 950/5000 from Gigabyte > GTX480 at 1920x1200 - GTX480 only wins at 2560x1600 and that is simply due to memory!!
Gigabyte card comes with overvoltage and overclock software and there are plenty of report of 1100/5000 on the stock cooler which WILL DESTROY GTX480.
So this card is faster at 1920x1200, cooler, quieter, in wide availability, and uses less power - plus is built as an overlockers dream card - the 950Mhz is listed on the card "to just get you started."
I will have two of these in Crossfire on Monday - will be posting full review of GTX480 destruction.
Can you imagine at 1100/5000??? The result above is at the stock 950Mhz - WHERE THE CARD WAS MEASURED 13 degrees CELSIUS COOLER THAN REFERENCE 5870 - meaning 1000Mhz at minimum is guaranteed!!!
I'm so excited!!!
ATI IS OWNING NVIDIA IN EVERY WAY BY REFINING 6 MONTH OLD TECHNOLOGY - THESE CARDS FROM GIGABYTE WILL BE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SET RECORDS!!!!The PCB features the usual Gigabyte technology: 2oz copper PCB and it uses the same quality of components its motherboards are renowned for. On the underside of the board, Gigabyte has opted to use five 'NEC Prodilizers' - basically massive, low profile film capacitors that are designed to work in the GHz frequency range of switching and high current. Gigabyte claims this technology should enable better, stable overclocks.
In addition there's GPU and memory voltage changing options in Gigabyte's tweaking software and as with high-end motherboards, voltage read points on the board for overclockers, although they aren't particularly well designed - they're just small solder points.
The HD 5870 GPUs themselves are clocked at 950MHz, although Gigabyte states this is just to get overclockers started, - even this factory clock is up from 850MHz retail stock, and they're cherry-picked dies, using a method Gigabyte calls the "Gauntlet" régime.![]()
THE ARE SUPER CHERRY PICKED TO GO TO 1100Mhz!!!!!
PWNAGE!!!!
GTX480 remains unavailable you cannot get one to save your life except for what may be a scam or broken card for $900-$1000 each on Ebay. As far as the world is concerned NVIDIA has yet to launch their GTX480 card as about 2000 were sold in the USA to the NVIDIA community relations viral team.
None for Europe, Asia, Middle East - the only way to get one is to be a NVIDIA associated person or pay a HUGE scalping fee. Why do that for a card that is already inferior to this card at every resolution and every game except if you go to 2560x1600 - and that is simply a memory issue.
How many people really have 30" 2560x1600 monitors anyway???? If you do just get the 2GB 5870.
Many games are not playable at that resolution anyway - that is why I stay at 1920x1200.
Anyway I cannot wait to get my cards on Monday and join the RED team - NVIDIA you have lost a previous lifetime loyal customer - I AM NEVER GOING BACK.

The competition is the main driving force for all technological evolution/revelation. I don't see why anybody should leave nVidia forever. Even if you think they have bad product now, why ban and bash them?.
ATi has been the underdog for a long time, but you are hailing ATi all the time. Based on what you are saying, how does it make scenes to you to hail a previews underdog?
