You have joined the wrong team.

The one you wanted is here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/te...mId=69B8364XP1

It looks like someone did something funny (possibly by mistake) in May '09 and started a team one letter different to this one. It also looks like they have abandoned it themselves.

    Thank you.
Clearly I'd be letting the team down by cheaping out with the 750 then.
Can't have that so 860 it is.

I tend to always go bigger... but that's just me.
    Aye!
    __

I'll let the old 754 Venice crunch until I swap it out for the last time.
    Been a yeoman box.

Be interesting (to me anyway) to see the difference in raw computational power.
I can't help but think it'll be substantial.
    Currently messing with:
    Intel DP55SB Sharpsberg
    i7-860 (stock) under a Zalman CNPS-8700NT cooler
    4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ 1600
XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition (765, 1125 stock)
Mushkin Chronos DX 240GB and 1.5 TB WD Black
Powered by a Seasonic X-650 and stuffed into a Silverstone GD05 case

Joined WCG today after getting Movieman's email.

My first time crunching for WCG. I've done some for F@H in the past.

Everything installed fine using Boinc Manager 6.10.43 and my i7-860 is crunching away right now @100%. I got this quad cheap as a member of Intel Retail Edge and thought I'd put it to some good use. I won an i7 HP laptop from IRE too and I'll hook that up soon to crunch too.

The only thing was, I had to figure out how to join the XS team. Maybe that's something that could be explained in the OP for the more dumb noobs like me.

I am having issues with Setting up stats trackers though. I have followed the guides and I still get a blank signature. I have CPID and I have entered it into Free-DC and entered Team Name and I still get nothing. I'm either a total noob or this thing just doesn't like me.

    Hi Guys,

quick question; is the 'Total Credit' on the Free-DC stats page the same as the 'Accumulated Points' on the WCG site?

    thanks, Ed.

No. WCG started with another program manger before going with Boinc. The difference is 7 x. WCG site shows 7x what Free-DC and other sites show. The stat sites like Free-DC show Boinc points.

    @mezcal Yes

@black_evo anytime I have mad a change to my sig stats it takes 30 mins to an hour to show up.

Ahh right, thanks, I'd better stop waiting for those 6k points to drop and find some more PCs to hijack then...

It can get confusing when people post ppd and do not specify WCG or Boinc.

Haha, that's how you know I spend way to much time around these guys.

Ok, so the question is why did it blue screen? What kind of cooling are you using? What are your temps? Mem OC'd (and to what)? And what voltage you running at?

The thing is your computer isn't used to running 100%, so even if it's stable at 3.7, it might not be for 100% usage... My guess would be either it needs a little more VTT to keep all cores up, temps got way out of hand (VTT too high or mount gone bad) or Ram doesn't have enough voltage to support the clock it's at...
ok my cooling is the coolermaster v8 100%load 67c max on core 1 the other tree cores are between 58-61 cores 2-3-4
cpu voltage is 1.18v now trying 1.2v bios
memory corsair xms3 1600mhz@1480 all auto but voltage @1.66
    qpi 1.33v
    ioh core 1.2

    asus gtx 285 1gb
im also using a coolermaster haf 932 case
and a coolermaster silent pro 850 watt psu

I am having a few problems.I am not sure what the deal is! I like to join the team, but for some reason my pc will not let me.I was hoping by now someone would of sent me a private message to help me!So I would not sound like a fruit in General chat here. And member belittle me!But I think this is why I quit this Forum before!

But anyway. When I log in to World Community Grid it will not let me join a team, its like the page keep refreshing its self. And I have hit Compatibility view.As well it will not let me see World Community Grid forums unless I log out. I am not done yet complaning here! I like to give 100% of my CPU, it will not let me change the settings. When I change the setting and save it give me a error occurred because you have submitted the page more than once. And I never submitted anything! I tryed going to their forum to post for help, but as I said it will not let! Any help please send me a message!

Haha, checked my temps this morning to see how my i7 was doing at 100% for 24 hours...good news is, I know it is stable, bad news is, I think I need to update my cooling! Was sitting at 71 degrees LOL. That should be fine though, right? Or should I drop the CPU usage down a bit?

Anyway, I got another computer up and running so that makes an i7 and 3x E8200 systems going 24/7. I have 1 more PC here in the office that I will put it on today and then 1 at home and maybe a laptop.

Also, quick question, I have been running it now for 24 hours exactly and I have returned 10,570 points....that sound rightish?

im a newbe at this so cant help with the score i have the gigabite ud5 mobo and i have my i7@3.7ghz but it bsod after about 6hours of doing this but i have uped the voltage of the cpu and im giving it another try

i love testing stability this way at least your using the g-fopps for good use unlike prime and intel burn test which you get no benifit from it

71 is not hot for the i7-9xx series. Now I'm not suggesting that you go much over 80 in general but I have a rig running 24/7 for 13 months between 73-83 (depends on ambient temps, cost of AC during the summer and what OC I want to play with) and it is still running strong with no sign of degredation.

Wait a few days. Your hourly point production will improve as your work units are validated.

Each completed work unit that's sent back to WCG has to be validated. In a nutshell, at least one identical work unit is sent out to another computer. Until that other work unit is completed and sent back, yours can't be validated. That can take anywhere from 1-7 days.

The reason it's done this way is because scientists like redundancy. They will often perform the same experiment more than once just to make sure the first result was no fluke.
