If you want to do just a quick bench to take back your WR, why not try a large ice bath? Fill a 5 gallon pail w/ ice water and pump it through your system. Although you would still need do some insulating.
EDIT: At least they posted your name in the article.![]()
I will try first with just the 2x boreas - if that doesn't cut it I'll insulate and try the bucket of ice then the bucket/dry ice. If that doesn't work I'll buy a plane ticket and take everything to lowfat for SS! Just kidding on that last part!
"name in the article" - Yes, agree - it nice to get a little recognition - even if it is in defeat.
Defeat is not an option, you can gete'm again.
The Corsair team have the advantage of unlimited number SSD, but you have the advantage of OCing the PCIe on your UD7.
Push the PCIe, and chill your CPU as suggested above, then go gete'm.

Sorry, it's 4499,5MHz, and it's 4500MHz club![]()
Up to one MHz short is fine with me (that's a reading accuracy issue anyway), does anybody have issues with it?
Last night - I did try to up the oc to 4.95 - went all the way to 1.63vcore.
I could boot into windows @ 4.95 but I was not even close to being stable for vantage.
Cpuz was showing 1.66v which was rather alarming - perhaps due to load line calibration set to level 2 (Gigabyte's name for vdroop compensation).
Temperatures at idle were actually not bad - high 20's to low 30's.
I suspect deep subzero is needed but I may yet try an ice or a dry ice reservoir.
Here's my quick and dirty 920 overclock.
3849B018. Passively chilled water from 300' of buried 3/4" geothermal piping. The loop's water in temperature was a constant 13.6c.

Romir - congrats and very nice cooling! what are you using for a a pump?
So you'v still got the the 3848A352
And yes, it can do more.
Yeah, but I'm gonna sell it now. All hexa cores for me (--> BOINC)

Still waiting for ruffus to finish my cascade so here is a simple WC system.
Quite a nice low voltage chip there, lowfat! I think it'll go far!![]()
LowFat - when is your cascade arriving - when can we expect to see results?
I am thinking about buying a ss from sdumper.
