I know that i will be buying this board. Not sure which processor i want to go with. Figure i can go with the 1055T(6 Cores at 2.8Ghz) the 955(4 Cores at 3.2Ghz) the 95W version, or the 975(4 Cores at 3.6Ghz)140W version. Just waiting to see if the new 955 or 975 will have the turbo with the new stepping.

But if the 1055T is really 199 then i will go with that. Just hope it will be a black edition.

Those pics from hardware canucks are originally from ASUS. I have no idea why sites put their watermarks to pictures, when they are not taken by them originally
This is one of the first samples out there, so we will have to wait few weeks to see the retail samples.

Here is the final looks of the board:

And here is the same pic in high detail: http://sf3d.pp.fi/images/ASUS%20Cros...otherboard.jpg
You are as good as your samples are!

Looks like it is the MemOK! feature.

I got of asus website and i made a list of all the features on the Maximus III Formula, Maximus III Extreme, the Maximus III Gene, and the Crosshair III Formula.
    Here is the list.

I really hope the Crosshair IV Formula has the majority of these.

Text on the board shows these features
    *CPU Level Up
    *Probe It
    *MEMOK!(Go Button)
    *Game First
    *Sata 3 (6Gbps)
    *USB 3
    *ROG Connect
    *CLR CMOS
    *SupremeFX X-Fi Built In

    The PCIE ports run at
    16X
    8X
    16X
    4X

It does have the same features as other ROG motherboards. (Latest)

I would need to get RCtweakit software for my laptop. It is cool feature to monitor everything from laptop during tests.

Does that mean it has the Speedy HDD?
The way i read it is basically a cheap way to try to match SSD speeds.
Pulling data off 2 HDD at the same time to try to double the data being read. Figure it should come close to cutting game load times in half.

Also found a post on another site the claims the 890FX NDA drops on April 26th.

Anyway this board is very beautiful.

The Crosshair III does 1600, Maximus III Formula does 2133, and the Maximus III Extreme does 2200

So i would think the Crosshair IV will do 2200 or more.

Chipset does not have effect on memory OC, cause the IMC is inside the CPU itself. There is memory MHz limitation in X4 architechture, not motherboard or chipsets.

Memory will overclock all the same, if you use X4 CPU's.

Thanks for the pics SF3D, looking forward to your tests on this board, especially 3D.

Now it becomes appearent that the PCI slots are actually grey instead of black that i kept them for. Black would have looked better imho though.

For those who didn't know, the mem ok feature was already present on the Crosshair III Formula. (never ever used it myself)

The dilemma i'm facing right now is go with this board or hold out for the CIV Extreme...hmmmm... decisions as always.

I thought the 890fx boards wern't out till late april (I think I'm getting my dates mixed up though) and waiting on a crosshair iv board. Assuming that since the bios updates are out that the board should be close to release then?
