This is odd, might be the first time a card STAYS over MSRP after 6 months on the market... bizzarro world but if the Google prices are correct, then at $450/$500, a 5870 (which seems to beat a 470) at $400 means there's no reason for the price to go down AT ALL!

OTOH wasn't Shane baxtor the guy who claimed MSRP of the GTX 470 was to be $299? Maybe he'll be wrong about this too!
and if that were coming from Nvidia the flaming here would be insane.

I'm still wondering what happened to that we won't sell any video cards for more than $599 comment.
