duron, with my s1283 cpu cooler i always used a line of paste on the ihs. like if when your looking at the cpu in the mobo, if the heatpipes go across the ihs from left to right, i put a line of paste on ihs from top to bottom. an even line, about half the length of ihs, and right in middle of ihs. here i made a ty picture to try to show you how i did it. now you might have to just try a few ways & see what works for you, but this worked for me.

if the heatpipes run from left to right across cpu, i would put paste on like this little picture i made.. (also, i see some people have good luck w/ 2 shorter lines, 1 on each of the metal peices between the heatpipes on the base of the cooler - ahh this would work w/ s1283 since 3 heatpipes, you might be able to try something similar)

thanks for this Tip. i'll give it a try. No wonder i always run out of grease
i was thinking that the more you spread the more the contact for good heat dissipation

First Run is Massive Ownage there. Too bad about not unlocking to a quad, but very nice numbers on air nonetheless.

Cool ! you got WD 640GB SATA3 drive too?
I got a pair of them but one of them just died after 10 days usage for unknown reason and I have to RMA it
I found that these new drive run quite hot , so better get a case fan to cool them

yeah, i think 260 is a bit low for this board - I am doing something wrong?
any pointers on getting a high FSB?

BTW this mobo keeps on surprising me!
the 1008 BPMW that was only 3 core in Bios 1.0 is now 4 core @ 4.2G! woot-woot!

Sorry man, I haven't seen this before, I think the best pointer is to meet Mad222 and join his OC team You live in the same city, that's what I would do in your place

But seriosly, you need higher nb voltage I think, that's what helps in older Asrock motherboards, and mostly all have just 3 voltage adjustments, cpu, nb and memory voltage, so it's not hard to try all combinations, anyway I hope soon to try it myself, and congratulations for your X4 chip

So here is a new CPU-Z score, made yesterday.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1118833

As you can see motherboard has a good OC potencial. CPU Vcore was 0.045-0.049V higher than value set in BIOS Setup. However the VRM isn't as good as in highend ASUS's motherboards. Voltage is stable, but with long load at high voltage the VRM can burn. In my opinion max safe CPU vcore at LN2 is ~1.7V.
