Got my UD7 on Monday... put my 980X in it. Dont boot. Great!

On the LED on the board used for boot errors it says "C1" ... which is to do with memory. So tried new mem - same error.

CPU and memory works perfect on Asus P6T Deluxe. So the UD7 has been returned!

Got a replacement coming tomorrow... this one better work. But has anyone else had that error?

^^ You may need a BIOS update.

I'm not sure when they have added the microcode, but I think it was F3-something. It may be a bit different for 980x, but my X5650 did not boot with F3.

I also tried it with a 920 aswell though. The board had different error for that!

I would have thought a new UD7 would come with a newer bios than F3 though..

mine one had F2 bios when i fired it up the other day...wouldnt boot with Gulf. maybe old stock in the channel i dont know
once i flashed to F6x all good....but yeah needed to stick in 960 to flash it

if you are getting an error with 920 that is a bit odd. what error?

Cant remember the error... but just to be 100% sure it was the board, i tried the 920 a second time... and... it worked!?!?

Must have not been in the socket properly before... no idea. So in all i've rebuilt this system 4 times now to get it working lol, not like i'm new to this either, must have built over 100 PC's in total.

Flashed to the F6X BIOS now and got the 980X working so alls good (Y)

...but i have another UD7 coming tomorrow now after thinking this one was faulty, so that will have to go back

Oh and i'll post OC-ing results soon.

Got another problem now... has anyone used the SATA3/6Gbps for RAID0? I have two Crucial RealSSD C300 drives and the RAID performance is worser than a single drive.

I've tried both IDE and ACHI modes, and latest drivers for the controller. It uses the boards Marvel 9128 controller btw. I cant even find anything on this board and RAID0 on the SATA3 controller from searching as hardly anyone has a SATA3 drive...

Bought mine last week and it shipped with F4, so F3 sounds about right I guess.

Please post pictures when you can. I want to see if it can be installed North/south configuration.

I got the Megashadow on mine, but sad to say it can be installed using the North/South configuration. I'm using a G.Skill DDR3-2133 Perfect Storm kit, even w/o the Ram cooler, it still won't fit.

But with the East/West configuration, no problems at all.

    Cheers!

    Yoh guys,
how can I run a mem. speed 1925 MHz by 175*23@QPI-Link3150@QPI36x?
The uncore multipler should be at 22 and the mem-multipler should be at 11.
The problem is I don´t find the 11 multipler in the BIOS.
What am I supposed to do?

You will have to adjust accordingly

Use higher Bclk (192) or lower, and change things up a bit.

I have always wondered why they did not include odd memory multi's, must be some reason?

f6 bios is awful I guess I should revert back to the previous.. I need lots of vcore for stability and all the benchmarks lock up.. On my xeon w3680 and the i7 980x... 5800mhz stable on the 6 core xeon using f4 bios.. Just tried f6 and an i7 980x es on ln2 and it was awful.. Hopefully it's the bios and not the chip.. It's the q3fe ..

I also like the F4 bios - got the 980 - 4.75 vantage stable on chilled water at 1.5v.
What vcore are you using for 5800?

Currently using F6x which seems ok, but previously found F4 to be very stable, but I think F4 would not support the hex core chips afaik, could be wrong though.
