I like it.
I like it a lot.
You get better and better at taking those tasty shots![]()
I agree, it's looking very schmick (that's nice)
Thanks, guys. I think I have about 20 lbs. of blocks/fittings on this board. She weighs a ton.
Most of it's due to the 5970s, of course.

Lightpainting and hardware are my life!
Man, all your blocks look insane, especially the gpu's.
Can't wait.
When are you going to polish up those caps?

Hey, guys! It feels good to be back in the swing of things again after a bit of a break. Just want to let you all know that I expect to have the Zero-G chamber piece finished (finally) within the next week, except for paint. All the parts will be painted at the same time when all the fabrication is complete.
I know that it's taking a loooong time to finish up this piece, but deep into the fabrication of this item I've discovered what I believe are several ways to make it look much neater and refined. If all goes well, I'll be sharing my methods and approach of doing this and will have another little surprise on the side.
I imagine to some that this build seems to be all over the place sometimes, and I apologize for that. This is my first major project undertaking and, admittedly, many things could've been better planned. So as we go along, things continue to evolve and shape themselves into whatever my crazy mind imagines them to be. So far I think that pausing to rethink some design choices has resulted in a better product, and I hope that most of you feel the same. I keep my fingers crossed that it continues that way.
Thanks, nigelke! There's a lot of nickel plated copper on that board, eh? It's going to take some strong standoffs to keep this sucker mounted upright I can tell you that much!
Thank you very much, Liderc. Yeah, I think that they all mesh together pretty well.
I was waiting for this.
I do plan on doing this for those who are wondering. Unfortunately, my stock Intel fan broke on me and so I have no way to test this new motherboard at the moment before I go voiding my warranty by polishing the caps. So that has to wait for the time being. The finished build shots will have polished caps, though. I'm pretty sure of that.
Thank you all for your continued support. I'm looking to pick up steam again and get the momentum rolling into the home stretch. All of your feedback and support is most welcome and appreciated.![]()

Keep plugging away. You'll get there. After each case I've built, I tell myself that I've had enough since it takes so many months of feverish work. Then I sit like I am doing now planning another build once the steam wears off and I start to get the itch to build again. I swear this modding thing is a disease. but at least it is a fun one.![]()

Things are coming along very nicely Xion. It seems like you are a better photographer then a case builderJK of course. I'm just curious how much did you end up spending on the hardware alone? It seems to be a VERY beefy system.

Thanks, voigts.
I'm often surprised just how long the fabrication takes. Then again, a lot of this I'm still new at and the first or second time through always takes forever. You can find me in the shop 3-4 hours each week night and 12+ hours on the weekends lately. And things still seem to be crawling along.
I think the biggest adjustment for me during this entire thing is having to learn how to pace myself. I'm usually the type who attacks something like a pit bull and races to the finish line. Can't do that with this.
Thank you, Vinas.
Thank you, ohms. I wonder sometimes if the system is a little too beefy as these 5970s are huge. This rig won't just be a show piece, though, as it will also serve as my primary gaming rig which is why I went all out on two 5970s.
I'd rather not discuss price on the forum but can PM you with some details. The waterblocks were provided to me through my sponsorships, so that knocked the price of the build down some which helped.

I can empathize with that. Once I get started on a case build, I want to practically spend every waking moment on it. It doesn't take long however at that pace to get worn out. Its so frustrating sometimes when you spend hours in the shop working on stuff only to finally stop and wonder what you actually got accomplished. Some of the smallest details take so much time.
I am telling myself that once I start on this next build, I am going to pace myself a lot better and let it take its time. At least that is what I am telling myself.

Great to see you back with updates. Some fantastic shots of all the blocks on your motherboard, especially the GPU's and RAM coolers.![]()
Thanks, Red; it's good to be back.
Ok guys, you will soon see refleXion in motion in full HD video. I'm finishing up some film tonight of the full board layout with all the waterblocks as you saw in the pictures and will hopefully have this online for your viewing pleasure either tomorrow or Saturday.
