Another MSI HD5870 Lightning Thread

MSI was kind enough to send me a sample of their newly released graphics card HD5870 Lightning. Here's what happened.

At first I had some real troubles with getting the clock frequencies any higher than around 1325/1250 but after upgrading the bios of the graphics card to a newer version things started to go a bit smoother. I ended up being able to run 1380/1320 at -185*C (full pot) and 1.4v which was the sweetspot for this card. It's not the best one out there but it's quite good for a "bad" card

Currently this was enough for a 3rd place in MSI:s Futuremark-competition

Nice card. What was vgpu? How does R3E work? What bclk it achieves?

The clocks are real nice, but something seems up with the vantage scores (esp gt2)...I'd say throttling but the fact that it happened twice in a row is odd.

The clocks are real nice, but something seems up with the vantage scores (esp gt2)...I'd say throttling but the fact that it happened twice in a row is odd.

Check the drivers.

As Pieter says the GT2 should be due to Catalyst 10.2 driver.

I have not tested the card on air so cannot help you there right now.
