Yeah, according to Intel this has a "Max Turbo Frequency"=3.06 GHz and this means 133x23 Multi, but my BIOS says max x22. So either the retail CPU has changed, or it is a BIOS-issue. I would really like to try x23, but can't select it for some reason.

Cores seams to be easy to control and stabilize with low-volts, but the challenge is to stabilizing the Uncore for high BCLK>200 without too much VVT for 24/7 use. Because the Uncore is locked on x20 on this CPU (at least it seams so for now). So higher multi with x23 would be a great help for getting these chips in high frequency, actually.
Sam - I assume you turned on turbo to try to get the 23 multi?
I think this is a qwirk of the ud7 - I must turn on turbo to get the highest multi on my 3520.

The turbo has been on all the times, otherwise it would use x20 multi. I've just tried turning on/off other CPU-power options, but still can't select x23 in BIOS, no matter what.
Probably the CPU is locked on max x22 multi, but it can be the BIOS, or other problems too. I'm not sure for now, but will try to follow this, because the x23 multi would really be a great option.

Tried F6 final bios and had lock ups and friezes in windows at 4.0Ghz. Have now tried F6x and found it to be better - anybody else found the same?
So far stable in Linx - only ten run need to test more I know, plus prime overnight once I am happy I think it is totally stable.

Think I will try 200x20 with turbo off to reduce temps and v core a bit more as that worked well when I tested at 3.8. Temps for above 4Ghz run were 70 to 76 degrees under water.

Ps I notice you are using Dominator GT memory modules - have just ordered these, should arrive today. How do you find they perform?

Cheers mate! handy link. cant wait to play with my new toy...

I see this boards bios can be updated through windows (also getting UD7 with the CPU on Monday)... i've not had good experience with this. Does it actually update ok with this board, on Win7 x64?
And can the bios be updated with a Flash card while in the bios?

Here are my Settings for the 980X. I'm sure it will run these settings with a bit less VCore though... ..still tweaking

I practice safe flashing so I never flash in Windows. It's easy enough to just use a USB memory stick, press F8 to start QFlash utility while in BIOS and select update BIOS.

I agree - never flash from windows as it is asking for trouble. As intratech says use usb memory stick and flash from q flash within the bios itself.

Crashmax - how are the temps under load at those settings? Is 1.66v ok for memory? makes you wonder why their is no option for 1.65 which it should be !!!!

Temps on water are 65C under prime full load (HT disabled though). If 1.64V for Mem works for you then us it. Up to 1.70 should not be a problem though.

    Miah,

Not time for ln2 yet but when there is time, need to test out some ram as myIMC apparently needs some cold.

I'm preety much a nub to intel so be kind.........

Some 3d testing with UD7,920DO, corsair GTX 2, modded to hell 8800GT 512mb, Corsair HX 850W, custom LN2 evap adapted waterblock.

Excuse the disaster area, it's been rather hectic lately.

All in all I'm liking it so far, seems preety stable, no major complaints except with NB heatpipe installed first card is a little hard to get at release tab.

Oh one other thing to note, max blclock about 235 on water, PCI 116 IIRC however not very stable and sluggish boot (IDE) drive so no the drive is not the issue.

234 is flawless with 106 PCI.

Oh question for moopa.........whats up with the voltage on water man? 1.728? vcore bugged? Sorry i'm an intel nub so just curious.

    I can't even boot that on ln2 I don't think.........in fact I didn't going back to my previous test on ud3r.

I wouldn't use 1.7v on water for very long on a 920, but the voltage you are using is safe for a 920 on air for 24/7 100% load crunching

    Yoh guys,
    maybe somebody is able to help me out of my strange problem;
everytime I order my sytem to shut down, the pc shuts down but a few seconds later the system starts just by itself again.
I deactiveted the Realtek PCIe GBE Famely controller "wake on magic pacet, wake on pattern match and wake-on-LAN-shut down". But the problem is still alive.
Does anybody have a solution for this strange behavior?

I assure that I use 1.728V on water .. I don't boot from bios but I use easytune6 to adjust it on windows. btw, I do use 1.7V for short time, not long time .. just show on CPU-Z only
