I can just imaging a size 1 VFD sitting next to that box lol

I'll always respect a SFF mod. having tried to put watercooling into a Thermaltake Lanbox Lite, it really makes you appreciate a full tower afterwards, and anyone that can pull off a watercooled SFF and make it look good, has done fantastic work.

Yeah, SFF watercooling definitely makes for more of a challenge. That's what I love about it. You have to plan ahead, or you're likely to end up with something that doesn't fit or work well if it does.

Assuming that you are in the US, how much did it end up costing you to ship, duties etc? I was curious about ordering one, since sidewinder hasn't stocked them in over a month.

Well, I got in on the summer promotion that AC was running last year, and I also got the powerbooster added to the Aquaero. The promotion consisted of the Aquero, inline temp sensor, and the flowmeter. I got all of them for about $230 shipped.

Wow, had i known about that I would of bought that in a heart beat. Using current exchange rates its like 270, plus what ever duties you have to pay once it arrives here. Which i cant find out anywhere.

Your project is going to be amazing once you finish it.

Yeah, I got really lucky. FYI, there were no duties I had to pay beyond what the product and shipping cost.

Thanks man. I think people will be amazed once I actually start...

(As a sidenote, the Romaxx CNC machine arrives tomorrow. Be prepared for a few unboxing pics...)

I'm getting the HS-1. It's got a work area of about 14x24. Since I work primarily with SFF, this is perfect for my needs.

Are you guys ready for this?

Well, it's finally arrived! Thanks to Ron Rogers of Romaxx for making this possible. What you are about to see is the unboxing of a shiny new HS-1 CNC router.

This machine is considered a tabletop CNC, and as such, doesn't take up a lot of space. Since I work primarily in small form factor, this will fit 99% of every need I have. Even though it's a compact design, this thing arrived to me in a 125 pound box. 105 pounds of that is the machine itself. If weight is any indicator of strength, then this thing is a beast.

So, shall we look at a few pics of this thing?

    The box...

Let's crack this thing open. It's definitely well packed, and bolted through the bottom of the crate.

That's it for now, but I'll follow up once the machine is setup in the shop. Until then!

Lol, I'm working on it man!

Yeah, I know the pics are a little dark. I had to wait for this thing to show up before I could head to work this morning, and they were taken in my kitchen before I had much light. Things should look much better once I get the thing in my shop. (Maybe I'll go back and change the balance on the current pics, but nah, likely not... I've got some playing to do. )

Nice little machine you got there craigbru. Looking forward to see the neat stuff your gonna make on it.

You should have gotten the cast aluminum plate table though, it would really have helped simplify setups and repetitive work.

Thanks. Yes, I'll definitely be getting the aluminum bed when I get a chance. I figured MDF was a safer alternative until I get a handle on the machine. It's so much easier to replace!

Wow, looks like a very creative case design, I like it!
Where did you post the first couple months of worklog at?
The water cooling and components setup looks similar to the design I just did (phase 2 at least).. great minds, eh?
Except mine is only a single computer system in there (and admittedly much less artistic), and not quite the multi-pc madness that you are going for:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...93#post4293893

I might change up my loop and externally mount my reservoir as you have shown.
But one question- isn't the loop out of order? Since the pump has to pull liquid through one radiator?
I guess it won't matter as much once everything is fully bled out, but you'll probably have a hard time to bleed the radiator initially because the air keeps making the pump lose its prime.
Just wondering, you've probably thought this part through already.

    Your caution is well advised.
One time I watched a guy who I did contract work for, slam a non-spinning brand new $1000 cutter into a 4" thick solid block of aluminum on an absolutely brand new CNC machine.
Then he yelled at me for standing next to him, watching him.
    What a tool.

Thanks man! The first few months were posted over at my SFF site, losias.net, and bit-tech as well.

Your mod looks pretty damn sweet! I love anything SFF. The extra planning is a fun challenge.

The loop really isn't that out of order, but it will be a pain to bleed. With the case design as it is, there's really not much choice in routing. However, I'll get it sorted by the time I build. The most likely solution will be to solder extra fill ports (for plugs) on the rad's themselves.

Now you just have to start, and make all of our jaws drop.

Honestly with a cnc machine, i think your possibilities are endless.

I know, the pressure is really on now!

There are actually a few minor changes I'll be making now that I've got the CNC. I don't mind difficult mods, but there were certain details I deemed too time consuming with hand tools. I don't need to worry about that any longer!
