n00b overclocking question

Both my C3's (965/555 unlocked) both seem to top out around 2.6Ghz IMC.
Trust me... I've pushed the V's on both of them all the way up to 1.4 and they both seem to quit scaling around 2.6.

Like I said, I'm a wuss.

But when I bring the IMC up .5v's and still can't squeeze another drop out of it (stable) I call it quits...

Call me chicken if you want... But I've never had a chip degrade...

I've been playing with the 555 tonight. It's IMC is a little weaker than the 965 but it's running Prime stable 2.51 @ 1.25v's...

I've been pushing tonight, but even @ 1.325 I can't get it stable @ 2600...

Hmm, it could be the board...but I'm purely speculating. I can do 2600 on about 1.225v

Our boards are/were very similar though.. 790X-UD4P vs 790XT-UP4P.

My 555 wouldn't unlock to a quad stable on an Asus M3A79-T Deluxe, but it's rock solid as a quad on this GBT.

What was you best IMC clock on the 790X Beep?

3000 in cold in sub-zero ambients, about 2800 stable inside 2900 benching............
