Yeah, I want to see at least a 3Ghz X6 stock chip, with a Black Edition of course. And I wonder what the full speed of the CPU is when turbo boost is enabled. These AMD chips sound sweet already.

What do you mean by the shared cache. As far as I understand PI x6 will have the same amount of L3 like PII x4. Are there any improvements or new caching method implemented in PII x6?

I need a switch at the back of my head to turn me off for over one month

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to my new CPU! It will be good upgrade for me because lately I'm doing some video editing and recompressing. Also more and more games are starting to use 2+ cores which is good!

Besides, new toy to play with is always a good thing (no matter performance)!

Hopefully, we'll get more info soon.

I just found out my old M3A78-EM is AM3 capable, which would rock and give me an excuse to move my 945 to that rig and go Thuban if it does do am2+. It just depends on price, performance, and OC'ability.

If my locked 945 will have a higher OC than the Thuban, forget it.
    You must [not] advance.
