Thanks for information and for this picture. It helps a lot. But those angled screws doesn't look good/save to me. Situation with MCW30 looks the same as for Rampage Formula. To make it fit perfectly all one should do is to unscrew two screws holding the block arms and turn them aside a little (and of course those two screws we screw in to the block aback). And that's all. Although the arms are beeing attached now to the block with two screws only and they loose a little of their stiffness, force of pressure beeing applied is still adequate.
I would rather cool NB with liquid too, as this chip (as all silicons) always performs better while beeing cooler, and also OC means a lot of voltage to the NB as well as to the CPU.
To be honest I'm quite sold on UD3P. But unfortunately this motherboard isn't available in my country any more. That's a pity:/ Will need to search for it at our neighbours.

Awesome chip Sergio.
It is amazing those UD3P boards are so durable. You have pushed that board to its limits for over 1 year now and it keeps going strong.

Just got my P45, my 2 year old Asus X48 Rampage died.
Going to read thru this thread some more and see how this mobo is.
I already miss water cooling the NB, It seems hot so far.

Sick dude! I just got a UD3P and LOVE it. Got 8GB RAM and now I really want a e8700! lol
Testing a new q9550 on this board right now but it's a buddy's chip though I might have to get one as only $179 at Microcenter (like $190 with tax). VID is 1.265 is that high? Will post results later...

With an EP45-UD3P and a Q9550 using the stock cooler I was able to get 3.82GHz Intel Burn Test 20 runs stable on all stock voltages. The temperatures were about 70-75C under Intel Burn Test so I put it back to the stock speed. I shall try for 4+ once I get my new case and water cooling.
My friend just got the EP43-UD3L and his Q9550 only goes up to 3.4Ghz (400x8.5) Intel Burn Test stable, but that's probably because the P43 blows for increasing FSB past 400mhz.

So I purchased this board to install an alternate OS, and it was working fine. Install went great, and I was dual booting with Win7 perfectly. 3 days after I get it, the lan ports both die completely, won't show up in windows, nothing. I RMA'd the board with Newegg, and 2 weeks later, I get the same issue. I called Gigabyte tech support, and we discovered the bios was corrupted, and both lan ports had mac addresses of gibberish, FFFFFFFFFFFF and ABABABABABAB.
That being said, I reflashed the bios and was back up and running until today, where the same damn thing happened! Now, I reflashed again, everything is up and running (again), but I can now replicate the problem... Every time I unplug the power cord from the system, the lan ports gets shot. Anyone have any insight as to WTF is going on here? Every other setting stays the same, so I'm assuming it's not the CMOS battery, it's just the mac addresses that change.
One other issue that's annoying me but isn't a huge priority... Windows experience index refuses to run on this system, since I installed the board. On the old RMA'd board, it would produce an error at the end of the testing, but on this board, it won't run at all. I click the button to start the test and absolutely nothing happens.
Anyone have any insight?

Entropism:
You could try disabling quickboot - for some reason it hides the board info from the system on my 1.6 board (check with CPU-z). Worth a try, think that's what caused me problems with it in the past, but I think the only way to get the windows experience index working again was to reinstall, but doesn't cause me issues now, but that could also be to do with the onboard FB bios which hid the quickboot option :/
Nice work with that chip btw andressergio - Kinda wish I looked into that option when I splashed out before! I have an apogee XT block and a lapping kit on the way, should help me drop at least 5°C off load temps and maybe head for some 5GHz benching action.
I have a syringe of that coollabs liquid pro tim which has worked great on a well lapped surface in the past, will be interesting to see how it compares to mx3.

heres another quick chart/guide/cheatsheet for cpu/mch reference voltages.
even though i dont own this board anymore,i cant stop thinking about it.
i had some free time today and decided to make this.
should be helpful for some of the new owners of this awesome board.

Wow that's an awesome chart, thanks!
I was wondering if the sleep issue is fixed in any of the latest BIOS's after F9 which is what I'm on right now.
If I put the PC to sleep now I can't resume working. It just keeps turning on and off in a cycle. Or just stays on with a black screen and won't come back.
