These cpu's have already become available through one of the distributeurs in the netherlands. The others (i work for one ) simply know they can't sell these yet or simply haven't gotten some yet.
I noticed several webshops already removed them from there shop ....... since this afternoon....

Very nice for a new CPU, although a longer run than 3 iterations would be nice to show stability with HT on.

I don't want to detract from those results though, a lot of new batch i7's wont even load windows at those speeds/vcore

You got a really strange batch# there, but this is a really exciting CPU. It is interesting to see the OC headroom on this.

EDIT: When I look more at that batch#, I think 3001A117 means that the manufacturing date is Jan. 2010. Am I right ?

Since you work somewhere that "WILL" sell the 930:
Do you know when the actual tentative release date is? Since you already have them in stock I assume its not too far away.

The official release date is 28. Feb. But all these http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/25329...re-i7-930.html are indicating an early release. It is not the first time Intel lets a CPU lose earlier.
I couldn't find any 930 at my local stores i Norway yet, but it looks like they can show up any time. I guess it is a good idea to start looking from Monday.

Any clue when the i7 980X is suppose to be released? I need to get my hands on one of those and I'm guessing a price tag of 1g. Will that be the only 6-core processor?

In march, and yes, for around 6 months. Unless you want to buy an even more expensive Xeon...

Well thats fine and dandy if you live over on the other side of the ocean. I'm in the us and no where I have looked even elude to a price point yet. Mags have said it will release at the same as the 920 yet the 920's price is all over the board depending on where you go. It would be nice to see MC release the 930 at the current $200 920 price and drop the 920 to say $130-$150 since its old discontinued tech. That might change my fiances upgrade from a 1156 to a 1366 with a 920. Not that she even uses the damn thing for anything other then file storage. I couldn't tell you when the last time is she actually got on it since I got her a netbook for work. But I'm redoing it as I have mine to match her business colors inside and out of the case. See my worklog in the sig if your interested.

Well i've played with the 930 for about 3 hours and replaced it with my good old 920. The reason is quit simple this batch (3001A117) sux ass big time.
It could only boot win7 at 4.4 ht on 1.45v and i didn't even bother with LinX wich it most likely fail bigtime at those settings
I have the change to exchange it with another batch when they arrive at my work

    Avoid any i7 with 3001A117 batch !!

That was really disappointing. I had high hopes for 930, but got suspicious when I saw the late Jan. 2010 manufacturing date for your batch#.

Wow, that is a really bad CPU. Guess the new 2010 batches take off from where the quite ordinary 09 batches stopped. Hopefully there's some gems among them though.

bad batch or does it need something other than vcore to get it where it's going? Try turning off turbo?

Have you tried both 22x and 21x multi? Perhaps you gave up too early?
