Yeah pretty much but on my TRUE if you put a fan on there it still covers a ram slot. If you put a bigger fan or a shrouded fan it'd cover more.

I just saw that it was a X58 board (sorry).

If you are using low profile RAM heatsinks it shouldn't be a problem, you could turn it any way you like

I think it should fit near that VGA if you reorganize fans on D14 ...

If you're really unsure I'd suggest getting something like Venomous-X, a very good cooler.

    Wahoo! I'm famous!

The 120mm fan sitting on the front there sits right over the X58 heatsink. It doesn't intrude on the first PCIe slot, but I move the 4870x2 down to the third slot to give it some room to breath.

No I saw that, I was just clearing up cause the angle of the pic kind of deceives and makes it look like it stretches down further than it does.

I think you should do fine. Just don't expect miracles. New coolers seem to enjoy higher tdp cpus like i7.

ok a few days ago i ordered mine ( Noctua NH-D14 )and i was told that MX-2 was the best for this HS, what do you all think, i rather ask the forum then the retailer

cause you all have done alot of testing with this HS on diffrent types of thermal

Liquid Metal can corrode copper, didn't try Indigo Xtreme yet, IC diamond is good although it's viscosity is very high - it sticks like hell lol . If you want 1-2 degree difference, may be the IC diamond is your choice. Otherwise, I'd recommend MX-2 or MX-3 since these are very easy to apply and clean-up.

Pretty sure it can only corrode aluminium, copper is fine, it might leave a dark "print" (easy to get rid of, though), but that's it. I'd ran a mount for over 2 years and it didn't corrode...

According to Vapor's tests, MX-3 > IC Diamond. Shin-Etsu X23 is better than both too. And Indigo Xtreme is the tops. [brag]NH-D14 + Indigo Xtreme is on the way for my i7 [/brag]
