I have an i7 currently its a 920 @ 4ghz, in 32bit it does 53GFLOPS...in 64bit many peoples i7 at same frequency can do 58GFLOPS....

See the huge difference between processors?
Why is it such a huge gap with AMD?
I want to go to AMD again, but not if that means horrible 32bit performance =(
Anyone have some more 32bit runs on an X4 @ 4ghz? to confirm the above screenshot?
Thanks
Phenoms do not exhibit poor 32 bit performance.... It's the way linx is compiled. Also,Phenoms (10h generally) do benefit more from crossing to 64bit binaries than any other x86 cores out there. It's the way AMD designed the core itself and the way GPRs are handled in hybrid and "pure" 64it mode.

If you take a look at gaming performance(for instance, since most users look at this segment first),Deneb design has great performance(compared to both phenom I and intel's offerigs),be it courtecy of large L3,improved branch prediction and faster caches over Phenom I(Agena) or something else.

I say if you are curious ,you can try out AMD platform and see the "forbidden to be mentioned smoothness" factor in general real world experience with it. If you do not like it for some reason you can always sell it or make a backup PC out if it...
