The cold boot issue I had is the same with the gigabyte X58-Extreme, Asus Rampage 2 Extreme and the classified.
Check my youtube clip, it will give you an idea of what I was facing.

Great!.
Do you know if Pcpower & cooling 750w Silencer is a CWT or non-CWT?.
I tried ( the last weekend ) with Zalman ZM850-HP on Classified and 920 under DRY ICE, maybe that was the problem.
I doubt it is Channel Well Tech.![]()

They are producing for many companies.

I dunno exactly, but iirc PCP&C produced their psus themselves?! No idea though, what oem has been making them since ocz bought PCP&C...
Thanks for the answers guys.
Any of you have " FF " post when you try to boot on OC mode?, 24-7 or xtreme sessions?
Hi @all
I´ve running my Board with an I7 920 @ 215x20 Ton an HToff. Is it normaly to set the VTT @ +300mv to get it stable to small FFT with Prime?
I get freezes after seconds, if I go below +300mv! Or is it something else to adjust to get stable?
Temps on Vreg and NB are under 60° loaded.

Try
CPU PLL VCore 1.5V (1.86V is way too much and makes things worse)
IOH 1.225 - 1.25V
IOH PLL 1.5V
QPI PLL 1.225V (in synch with ioh)
also try playing with vdimm as the right relation between vdimm and vtt matters.
/edit.
You should only need about +125mV max for Vtt. One thing you should add for the time posting here... a detailed signature.![]()
Hi, greets to Germany
Ok, I tried QPI PLL and IOH PLL with 1.5v. I got immediately a freeze on the desktop. Also I have set settings you said. I will test in prime.
I´ll keep in mind your edit and will ad a sig in the future^^
cheers
€dit: Same, Freeze after 10sec. in Prime small FFT!

Hey, I like Austria.
Hmm... Wonder why your system acts like that.
Did you also try to set cpu impedance and qpi compensation to "less"?
What BIOS revision are you running?
Maybe your CPU is not well seated in lga socket?! Is all your RAM being displayed by windows task manager?
Is it possible to try if your RAM likes specific slots? change out two sticks with each other... What ram is it btw?
What are your NB/PWM temps?
Hi,
is all @less
Bios: newest one I get on EVGA.
Ram is all listed.
I had reseated the CPU 2 times before.
Ram is G.Skill Trident 16000. on auto. Will try to set it manual.
Vreg and NB temp @load is below 60°. I installed two Fans to blow directly on Vreg and NB.
Edit: What should i set on MCH strap? Imo its on "auto"

Thx, I´ve set it to 1600 Strap. But, no chance to get the 215 bclk stable. Tested with multi 19 @ 4GHZ @ same vcore. Same freezes in small FFT. I think its not the CPU what causes the problems.
Hmmm.....what can I do to get 215 bclk or more? The only way to get past the small FFT, is to set the VTT @ +300mv and thats pretty much for 6Gig Ram.
I´ve seen other guys with max +100vtt and they are over 215 bclk with an I7 920. Depends this high VTT on my Rams? (G.skill Trident 16000)![]()
what speed are you trying to run the ram at? s3et the divider to 2:8 and not 2:10 if you haven't already and try that. then loosen the timings a bit.

Speed is @ 1720 with Devider 2:8 @ 1.65vdimm. Timings @ auto was 11-11-11-24 /88 changed to 9-9-9-24 / 74 same result.
So, I raised the vtt +300mv again and voila it goes. Why to hell is the vtt so important to run through the small FFT? I thought small fft is for testing the CPU´s vcore?
VTT is @ 1.60 (everest) and NB voltage 1.33 (everest)
I'd recommend you hit that VTT with a DMM and find the real voltage because 1.6v is death city for i7's especially if they are not extremely cooled.

Ok I will lower that vtt, but I didn´t understand why it is important for the small run to get past?
couldn't tell ya about small fft, or prime. Never run the crap and use my personal usage as a gauge for stabilityA couple hours of Dirt 2 is about as much as I'd ever give it lol.

Can you drop uncore speed? Small fft is indeed only testing L1 and L2 caches.
Measuring Vtt via digital multimeter is a good idea... the software readouts on my classified are way off as are most other 759 and 760. (~0.1V sometimes)
/edit.
What's your psu and its rails under load?
did you also try to decrease pwm frequencies to be sure?
Uncore Speed it is @ its lowest 3445 x 16. Sry, I´v no Multimeter for measuremnet.
PSU is Enermax Revolution+ 850W. Maybe I should plug in the second 12v CPU connector to the Board?
Ok, pwm frequency was on 1330khz and vtt frequ. on 610khz. What should I try on these settings?
