Best CPU Block for an i3,i5,i7?

Hello again guys. I am trying to Google what is the "best" CPU waterblock these days and I can't find a concise answer. I did the search here but couldn't find one either. Could you fine folks post your opinions on it please. ATM I have a Apogee GTZ on a q9550 but I'm looking to go 1156 in my next build starting in a week or so. Thanks.

Until I see Vapor's testing of the Supreme HF, the XT is tops. I prefer the data determining the "top performing block" come from the same tester using the same test equipment throughout all block testing, and Vapor is consistent and excellent at testing. Otherwise, trying to compare individual block test results from random testers with each other is almost useless.

Right now, there are only 2 active testers that I can think of off the top of my head who's results I am willing to trust. . .Vapor is one and skinnee is the other (not necessarily in that order though

). There are a few inactive testers such as nikhsub1 and Martinm210 on the US side of the pond. There are two from the Euro side I've not seen hide nor of hair of in quite some time, they are rosco and Radical_53.

well, personally, I think the EK HF win the look, I got mine last week, one of the best looking block I ever see.

NOTHING.. and i say NOTHING will ever beat a cuplex when it comes to sexy.

I only wish its performance was = to its looks.

I personally think that the degress C between the top 5 blocks is so little that you should just choose which one looks the best with your system.

.. but the block ability to retain the best possible performance at very low flow rates as commented by Vapor in his original article, thus allowing to build a complex and fairly restrictive loop without the necessity for multiple pumps.

I will not discuss looks, since this is a very subjective decision indeed.

i dont see where they tried any of the other jetplates in the HF, i've read that it has a substantial drop in temps with the plate that is slightly more restrictive. id just like to see a compare between the two like that. otherwise i'll say eff it and just use my GTZ on an evga board when i go i7 lol

One thing I thought of when I got the XT besides the performance is also the easiness to install it.

ATM I have an Apogee XTZ and I absolutely love it. The issue I have now is that Mine didn't come with the universal mounting plate as I bought it before 1366 came out so I have to buy it now

I may just spend a few more bucks on HW and keep the GTZ for a little longer.
