So for my Intel build option I overlooked this board for some reason..

Mega Shadow/Megahalems on this board in traditional exhaust out back of case orientation with 2x 25mm fans/push/pull doable on this board with no fitting issues with RAM with reasonable sized heat spreaders (e.g -http://www.memoryc.com/computermemory/ddr3ram/6gbgskillpc312800hkcl8triplekit.html) ?

After a bit of help here guys. Been playing around and doing some benching with my UD7 for the last week or so, and really pleased with it so far. However, come accross some strange results. Basically with my i7 @ 4.4ghz I get higher scores in both vantage and 06 then if I get it to 4.5ghz. At first I thought it was my GPU's or drivers/software etc, however im now pretty sure its not that, and it has something to do with the board/CPU overclock. Here are my best scores at 4.4ghz so far:





Now, at 4.5ghz im pulling around 28,000 marks in 06, and 27000 in vantage which is really odd and I cant for the life of me work out why?

The only thing I can think of is i have the NB cooled on air with just the waterblock - I havnt installed the huge cooler as it means I cant use the PCI-E 1x slot for my sound card. I think temps are ok however - everest doesnt go above 55 degrees on the NB under load. Im assuming the "motherboard" temp reading in everest is the NB temp?

Any ideas? anyone come accross anything like this - pointers appreciated!

You should get a better CPU-score with 4.5ghz, unless it is missing something or is unstable.
It is a good idea to test the CPU and RAM stability before checking the 3D-score.

Well, its LinX stable for 10 mins (all I tested it for) at 4.5ghz, which should be plenty stable enough for 3dmark. Just seems a bit strange thats all. The SM2.0 score goes up at 4.5ghz, the CPU score does a little, but the SM3.0 score goes down which is what initially made me think it was GPU/driver/software issue. The strange thing is that there is no prob at 4.4ghz. Actually, when you watch the FPS at 4.5ghz it seems higher than at 4.4ghz but its just not registering on the score. Very strange. Im on the original bios so i will give the BETA a shot and see if that makes any difference.

Bios X58AUD7.F3m is not good Flash with X58AUD7.F3k.

I updated the bios to f3k but it does not help.
When I set

Seem the F3K no good for my cpu,
I can do 1.387v 4.6G pass linx 50 run on F3G bios, but need 1.4V on F3K bios.

Any other detailed release notes for F3? Apart from core i7 6 core processor info.

Anyone notice anything new with this F3? So far I notice nothing different, this board is great, but it just doesnt like high memory mhz, my classified could do it easily.

I still prefer this board though as high mem mhz doesnt really make a difference in games and programs for me. It would be nice to have the choice of oc'ing memory though.

I've never had a serious LinX-run on this setup before, so I'm not sure if LinX needs more Vcore, or the new BIOS, or maybe it is a combination av both.

Yeah, LinX requires more vCore, you got that right.

Somewhere i read that you cant boot from SATA 6Gbs ports, i cant remember which board it was in relation to .. maybe this or the Asus or maybe im imagining things...

Cool, thanks. 200bclk is pretty low though, hopefully newer bios will help later on.

Yeah, you are right. LinX needs more, but I was expecting 1 or 2 notches, 3 is a lot av Vcore for my low-volt babe I'm still not convinced if this this new BIOS F3 is totally innocent in this.

Yes, you can boot from the SATA 6Gb/s ports. I tried it and it worked fine, although a bit slower than the Intel controller when using a regular SATA 2 drive. I have *not* tried it since the BIOS update that also updated the Marvell controller firmware.

You can easily raise the PCIe bus on the X58A-UD7 so 223bclk won't be a problem.
