Wow, you're actually right. I'm used to seeing one or two of those threads on the first pages, but ever since this thread was updated, they've been very quiet.

Your absolutely right. They are the joke of the world....The Ninja's that is or the one's acting thereof.... I eat Ningee's for breakfast!

Happy to see some resolutions happening and some new products coming out. Keep those ideas coming!

Can't wait to see the improvements you've made into the new designs BoxGods. I really hope it's gonna be all ok this time.
There is has been very few alternatives for bay pump-res combo for the D5 pump.

Frankly I think it's brilliant. Reliability of the D5, combined with convenience of a bay res. Just have to work out some kinks in design and manufacturing part.

Please, don't hesitate to over-design. Should always have tolerance to accommodate some manufacturing defects. I think I speak for everyone here that we water cooling pc people really would like something that is reliable instead of just looking nice.

For good reason though. Don't discredit the complaint and the complainees due to an email written by a 15-yr old. It's offensive.

    +1 on reliability.

I am talking about idiots who PM you threatening you or ball-less folks who talk smack online but will not meet you in person to do it to your face even when you provide ample opportunity.

I fully support people who have problems with products posting their experiences and concerns which I why I bend over backwards to help people in the minor ways I can.

Agreed. That is frustrating, but what do you do (besides laugh at them)?

Don't confuse those folks with the people with real concerns, in a way the ball-less ones take away from those with honest complaints.

I am a BIG fan of overkill so no worries there. My original T3 design as submitted to the injection molding company had almost 40% more mass then the finished product ended up with. Even that extra mass in thicker walls and screw areas would not have helped with the number one issue clear injection molded reservoirs face though. Acrylic, poly carbonate and virtually ALL clear plastics have a tough time with chemicals as benign as alcohol and forget about tougher stuff like ethylene glycol. It does not matter how clever the design is or how great the performance is if the base material has issues with those chemicals.

From the COMPANIES perspective, Primo Chill in the T3's case, your put into an awkward position because a certain number of customers are going to peel the warning label about alcohol and EG off without even reading it and when the plastic cracks from exposure they are pissing mad. Those of you who have been following this thread for a long time will remember more then one person who ranted and raved about their T3 and its awesome performance and mentioned using a coolant with EG in it. A few days later they are posting scary pictures of horrible cracks and swearing they only used baby unicorn tears. You can't call them out on it either so its grin and replace it.

When there are also legitimate issues that cause cracking (and there have been) like the extra UV stabilizers or the metal inserts (which also lead to breakage from over tightening in some cases IMHO) it just gets harder. My point in that looong answer is that from now on I won't be designing clear injection molded reservoirs as the teething process is just to traumatic. Its Delrin and nylon for me from here on out.

Agree 100%. A failure is a failure till it's fixed.

You called him out and he loaded his drawers and declined DB. Get over it already as he is NEVER going to grow a set and show up man. Those who can, DO. Those who can't talk doo doo.

BoxGods, if you design a T3-style res in Delrin I will go on record right now to say that I will be the first to preorder one. Always wanted to get a T3 and a black Delrin model would go PERFECTLY for what I have in mind doing with my current project. Keep me in the loop if this is something you might consider...

Its already done and black is one of the 8 colors it comes in. It looks pretty much like the split window reservoir but has the D5 mounting and port configuration like a T3.

Did you redesign the inlet for the D5 version to boost single outlet performance?

I did have to alter the pump design to account for the different material and of course to make it machinable. Machining every single part verses one that is used for a mold means you have to simplify as much as you can or the product would be VERY expensive. Even in it's simplified version machining single units for samples is more then anyone would pay because of set up fees (a $1,000 set up fee divided by 4 verses that divided by say 500 or 1000 units for a production run).

I know your very busy with the new site redesign (which looks awesome btw) or I would have sent off a sample for testing. I can still if you think you can get to it faster then 2-3 months =)

Yes, though I had to alter the volume to accommodate the change in the T3's main chamber volume and to streamline machining.

As I have posted before, the best way to "see" what the delrin or premium T3 is about is to think of a dual bay Split Window with the same rear mounted D5 and port configuration found on the standard T3. The Delrin model has the same machined aluminum face plate and also replaces the 4 screws and acrylic mounting plate with a machined aluminum compression ring with a knurled surface. It works pretty much the same way the ring on the stock D5 does. It also can use a new motor cover or "full conversion" type of pump mount I designed that will sell as an option, (it also fits the 2 other new D5 pumps coming out shortly).

    Quick Question BoxGods,

Are the aluminum parts you describe above isolated from the water/coolant in the loop?

I like your design and this is one of the best ideas I've seen for as D5 pump. I just used DI water, no additives nor do I want to use any additives.

How soon till you can post some specs / pics of the delrin design?

Yes the aluminum is separated so there is ZERO contct and no danger of galvanic corrosion. There is a laser cut acrylic window inset into a cavity machined into the face plate that seals via an O ring between the acrylic and the delrin body.

The image bellow is an exploded view of the split window but the design/assembly is the same. It shows how the aluminum is isolated pretty clearly.

I will post images etc. as soon as I get the OK from Primo.

    What thickness? (acrylic window).

1/8" for the non front port models. The front port version is also 1/8" but has extra 1/4" thick areas where the plugs go.

I am told 2-4 weeks so should be by the end of February barring any issues (like getting the O rings in etc).

Well I came home to a nice surprise today. Primochill sent me a replacement T3 with a nice apology letter. So what's so great about this? I never put in an RMA since I wasn't having any issues with my current one, so it was nice to see that Primochill (Brian) had taken a proactive stance by sending me a replacement without me asking for it. It has the new orings and plastic screws with it too. Just thought I would share a good experience since there have been several bad ones. Thank you Primochill (Brian).

EDIT - Ok, so it turns out the T3 wasn't for me, but for Bei Fei. Since we ordered ours at the same time Primochill shipped his replacement to me and Bei Fei didn't know that. So I did not get a new one as I had thought, not that I need one, but I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of what had happened, so there was no expectations of a T3 arriving at any one's house unexpected. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
