I think it will perform equally as well. Mine is an ep45T but i have a dual core in it. Never had any probs apart from needing to put a small fan aimed at northbridge as it was hotter than the sun at 1.3 Vmch. I saw them listed too on a few sites, they disapper v fast.

What bios should I use on my EP45-UD3P for best overclocking? Iam running the newest F9 but often it gets into a "reboot" mode where it never boots but just reboots before bios screen :S

    Talking

here's proof that the EP45-UD3L - the cheapest of the Ultra Durable 3 series can hold it's own at 500fsb - don't get me wrong I wouldn't leave it at this vtt - but i figure it's pretty decent for a $100 motherboard...Even beats most of Asus's line up (with Quads) AND my $200 T2RSB Plus...

    beautiful

    they definitely got something here

I may just buy another one for a rainy day

what cooling do you have on the northbridge? because im on stock cooling with case fans and im still getting lockups in the high 460s fsb wise. also what performance level are you at? i see your using 1:1 memory divider while im on 5:6 performance level 8 atm. im already on the 8 multiplier to push my cpu and thats with stock cpu cooling lol. i can see myself using the 10 or possibly even the 11 multi if i push for 5ghz if i ever get around to using dry ice. big question mark over whether this board with only 4 phases will handle a quad pushed that hard, probably not.

Anyone have some settings for a Q6600 @ 4Ghz and beyong? At 9 x 460 its stable for benchmarks but above it crashes almost instantly. And Iam in doubt what to increase to get more stability (If its not a FSB wall)

Q6600 at 4.14GHz is already very impressive, I'd reckon you are seeing the limit of the chip.

Anyway it's taken me a long time to get used to this board coming from Asus (around 1 month), and at first I really hated it...but now I've got to say I really love it. I am running the below as my 24/7 clock, it's not prime stable but is stable enough that I can run it 24/7 with no crashes doing everything from gaming to encoding and CFD simulation.

I think what songok was getting at is the scope for encoding errors. If unstable by even the slightest amount, the resulting encode stands a good chance of glitchy pixels in frames etc, particularly as encoding doesn't really verify it's output. I guess if your not an audio/video-phile like me then you've got nowt to worry about, but I am!

Anyway, I've been busy with this board over the weekend - done a load of benching with my quad to get me several 2nd through to 5th places in the HWbot rankings. The only thing I've left out is PCmark, but for my first bunch of submissions I don't think I did too bad at all! If I had phase/nitrous/EP45T I bet I would do a load better!

Like I said a while ago - biting at your heels you top dogs!

Jusk kidding dude. Reason i mention is, i am, as In-Fluence guessed, a video-phile and have had to redo x264 blu-ray encodes because of glitches from unstable oc. Small glitches but the people dl'ing it were quick to point them out! Nice job on 4.7 , i can only dream of that on my cooling.

just a cheap green lit 2500rpm molex case fan and 1.30 volts

i don't let it run at 500 for fear of killing a 300$ chip with vtt, since i don't need to, but 471x8.5 is easy with this one...did it on the first try...whereas my bad ud3r took 2xdozen attempts and never booted succinctly..so to speak...I personally don't think 471 will kill it - (too soon anyway) ...

i know it's only 4 phase and no pwm /mof cooling, but then it only has to last 3 month's when i replace it with a UD3P - but i'm a little tapped out after X-mas so this will have to suffice - and it was only a quick trip across the street - either that or the UD3LR /EP45T-UD3P - just for the DDR3 fun - if i can find one..

i just wanted to say that it appears ALL the Ultra Durable 3 series can do it with Quads....that's all

    Thanks

edit: i'm not into the performance stuff, i just set everything from Turbo to Standard..that's all I can tell ya

Hmm is there some way to get less than 2.0 divider? I cant find out if its my ram thats limiting me.

    Running 9 x 460 FSB, 2.0D 4-4-4-12 is fine, 1 FSB is crash.
Running 9 x 3xx FSB, 2.6D (Gives 900Mhz on mem with sloppy timings) 5-5-5-18 cant boot
    Running 9 x 380 FSB 2.5A 5-5-5-18 gives 950MHZ on mem which can boot.
Running 9 x 460 FSB, 2.0B 5-5-5-18 Runs fine which is the same as 2.0D and tighter timings, But 1 more FSB here also crashes the system, shouldnt that CAS5 give me some headroom if they are the limiting factor?

Do you think Ive hit a FSB wall?

Fair point. I am not a videophile, I encode only a few movies per year. BTW I would think the software would have some sort of error checking? guess not

    I am an audiophile though
