The fix would be to reduce accuracy during and after the dive, not to remove it.

is prone even in bad company, i dont remember it but i dont play all that much console shooter

as for prone, u cant increase damage since DD makes u invincible, so to fix it u would have break prone for people use it properly or remove it. i dont think that ive even used it all to much on bf2 except to wedge under trains and thats not a good idea in BC since everything is destructible

you will need some really high end audio equipment, or super fancy headset to be able to discern between 16bit and 24bit audio streams. No big deal

the lack of prone and a couple of other things have me worried. I didn't like Bad Company, so I'm not holding my breathe for BC2.

are the servers 64man at least? if not...pass.

It's getting a little old when you talk down to someone. "Good, you understand..." I've been playing Battlefield since Vietnam...I know the series quite well including Bad Company 1. And I've been following the production of the next Battlefield PC game since I stopped competing in 2142. In the case of Bad Company 2, DICE is endowing the PC version with DX11 imagery, 'dedicated' servers, a possible in-game updater as well as a possible in-game messaging system (I have not heard anything concrete on the latter two). I'm a PC gamer. I hate FPSs on consoles, they are inferior and playing one on a controller is ridiculous. I'm on ur side

This thread would be great for any Psychology majors. The 'Bandwagon' phenomena is made clear here.

    - If you can tell the difference between 16-bit and 24-bit audio, I'll give you a cookie.
    - Prone is not needed. I was in the PS3 beta and the game was actually better without it. There was no dolphin diving nonsense. No campers, and very fast gameplay.
    - The DS thing is no issue. Really, you should be happy DICE isn't following in IW's footsteps.

This is probably why developers don't like making games on the PC: The lot of you just like to whine and whine.

Why should developers make games for PC gamers if you're just going to whine? Try making a game for an audience, only to have it ridiculed, criticized, and crucified by the community after years of work. That would make me NOT want to make games for the PC.

    Keep it up I say.

EDIT: BTW, BC2 is not BF3 so get that out of your heads.

agreed. sound is a bit of a let down but overall it looks way better than MW2.. MW2 was complete hyped up junk even with xbox live.. worse 60 bucks i ever spent on a game.

There is a fix already for prone accuracy, no need to make a problem there.

If you can't prone then can you at least crouch?

This was fixed way back though.

You should be able to go prone, and you should be able to tilt your head/body

Im not worried by this game, ok it sounds like the game has a few little downsides but im still happy they are gonna release it on PC.
The big ass Modern Warfail 2 thead was started by me and as a true COD addict i was really disappointed what became of that game, i still didnt buy that game and i will never do (not even for 10€).
Now i got the game pre-ordered and im really looking forward to it, i even started playing BF2 again.

Speak for yourself. Some of us care about sound quality and have spent good money on excellent setups capable of delivering quality audio - I've just spent a blissful hour listening to 32/96 out of mine. If the option is available on another platform, it should also be available on this one. If the only way DICE can think of to ensure compatibility across multiple machines is to downsample everything to 16-bit then I don't think much of their programming abilities, let alone breaking a PC game by removing what should be essential parts of any FPS.

I see you have some nice Audio Technica's but what do you hook them up too? If you just plug them into your onboard audio im pretty sure you cant hear the difference.

Im using a humble DACMagic and Audioengine A2 for as speaker setup and a Bravo headphone amp with the DACMagic for my HD650 and the sound difference is minimal if even there between 16, 24 and 32bit sound in games in my experience.

If I was using onboard sound then I wouldn't be able to get 32-bit out of it, probably not even 24. Setup is in sig - Auzentech Prelude as source, usually outputting to a Meier Audio Corda Cantate and from thence to the AD1000s. And please don't tell me what I can and can't hear - I don't presume to tell you.

While there are of course people who whine about almost everything all the time, or about any game which isn't aiming precisely at whatever group of gamers they belong to, a lot of the whining is usually caused by developers taking shortcuts, cutting stuff out instead of balancing it, trying to lock players in, removing features that were previously there, not listening to/caring about their customers, etc.

If people criticize a game, shouldn't it be up to the developers to look into why there is criticism and, if the points are valid, try to fix it? Criticism usually implies unsatisfied customers, which is not good for long term business.
Games nowadays are usually too much about hype and too little about a genuinely great experience

Besides, nothing personal, but how is your whining about other people whining making anything better?

So I should just let others whine about pointless stuff and not say a word about it?

People are forgetting this isn't BF3. Bad company was a console spin-off, first of all. We're lucky to even get the second installment on the PC version. People saying that the developers are taking shortcuts and cutting features that were 'already there'? Where? Last I checked, the developers of BF2 are making BF3. I didn't know they stopped making BF3 just to give us this 'terrible' console 'port'?

Again, this isn't BF3. It's funny watching people complain about features that weren't even there in the first place. Had BC1 had a PC version, people here would have a valid complaint. But they don't.
