Thanks for the reply KingOfsorroW. As owner of Asus P6T7, how does it overclock? With W3520 CPU and on water, is it possible to get for example; a 4.5 GHz easily with decent temps and Vcore? There is one thing holds me back about P6T7. There are no full waterblocks available for board.

If I go with E760 Classy, how will the PCI lanes be shared? There will be 3 GTX285 and 1 PCI Sound card. 16x/8x/8x and 1x?

Yeah, there are no waterblocks that I know of for this mobo, but at the same time I wouldn't say you would need one - it's known for its very efficient passive cooling heatsinks setup... I, personally don't need a waterblock - the heatsinks in my system are not getting hot, and some of them are barely warm during operation. But you have to have a good air circulation inside the case for the heatsinks to be that efficient. I do - so the result is like I say.

About the lanes: as far as I undrstand, the classified only supports only 2 lanes x16. And if you run tri sli as you are planning to do, you will only have 8x 8x 8x and I don't know about the forth one. Whilst the supercomupter supports 7x16 no matter what you have installed...

Well you won't get 7x16 all the time. You will be able to get 4x16. I have included the specs below but I ordered one of the p6t7 because with the beta bios it seems to be a winner with that many PCIE, minus the slight latency increase.

    3 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (@ x16 or x8)
    3 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (@ x8)
    1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (@ x16)
    *4 x PCIe 2.0 x16 or 7 x PCIe 2.0 ( 6:@x8, 1:@x16)

Correct Only 4x16 and 3x8 while your at it
    as per the manual:
    http://support.asus.com/download/dow..._type=12&os=30
Just make sure you don't use any of the black slots, so that you don't loose that 4x16 combination of the blue slots.

Either way, still this board fits right in with XS. Some might not like the latency but the PCIe alone...

Well Xmas was good P6T7, 3550 and 6gb of Patriot PC16000 ram. Board booted right up with BIOS 210, but complained about the cpu and I got a little worried when I saw 800 and 1066 settings only with a locked multiplier. Flashed to 504 with a nice assortment of memory settings and the CPU Turbo Power Limit setting, feeling better.

Sitting flat on my desk on the static bag, board was hot near 50c MB and 60c CPU (Stock Cooler & TIM), metal over the controller area was hot to the touch. Elevating the MB about a half inch, turning HT off and placing a small house fan on low near it brought the temps to 33c MB, 45c CPU with the metal still warm but reasonable. Hopefully will do a little better once the board is vertical.

Both video cables in the box were for green cards.

The CPU water block I ordered will be there when I get home from work and with four days off should have a pretty good idea of how the parts are going to work together.

I'll contact Duniek and ask ... or if you happen to read this post Mike: PLEASE, PLEASE can we show "it" off now?

xaxis, it's finally here, I guess. Wow, that waterblock looks great. I was going to buy E760 Classy but with an available waterblock, maybe I should go with P6T7.

Yeah, I've had the pictures for a few days but was instructed not to post them yet, for some minor details needed attention... But indeed, it's beautiful! I can't wait to get home and finally finish working on my supercomputer liquid cooling monster!

I saw that picture on Duniek's Liquid Cooling Worklog 1.0 thread. I edited my post. I left a link to Duniek's thread.

I do, but it's majorly on hold due to my current ... well location/occupation. Also, many of the intended components (EVGA x58... blocks, 3xgtx285s, i7 975 Extreme, etc, etc) went into another system for I had to hugely "remodel" an MM Ascension case: Needed a new custom 10 pci slot opening back panel for the (at least 4 5970s (hopefully 6 or 7) - mind you I'm not a gamer: system intent would half be for my own programming experimentation and the other half would be to smear the "Fastra II Project's" tomography application all over the digital road of computational power bragging rights.
    Project Illuminated (on hold)

Read all the way through this post and it finally put the nail in the coffin on the Classified I was considering over the P6T7. I have one of these on the way along with an i7 920 and it should be here later this week. I am looking forward to it. For the price compared to the E760 Classified this seemed like the better bet for me. I have no use for all these PCI-E slots....yet. Probably never will. My idea behind getting this was it gives me a good platform to upgrade on for 3-4 years. I went 2 years on my trusty 780i so I see no reason this can't give me that kind of longevity. I really just like the idea of having as many full bandwidth PCI-E slots as possible. Now where are any good overclocking guides that pertain to this board....or are the standard ones sufficient for this? I can overclock a Core2 quite easily but this one seems like its going to take some learning.

    Thanks.

Well I finally got it in and got everything together. I am really pleased with this board. Its hot but that was expected. I have it in an NZXT Tempest EVO so that keeps everything in check. Just playing around here the last day or so I managed 4.2ghz on my i7 920 with little effort and it seems like there is room for more. Now it just needs something more than my 9800GTX's....

I would post them but my board took a turn for the worst...one of the ethernet ports was not working. I was only using one and then I decided to start testing all the components to make sure nothing was dead. So I have since sent the board back for a replacement. I do remember I was somewhere around 1.3 vcore but thats all I remember off the top of my head. Sorry.
